I dont think it is the ps2 that is holding back inventory levels, i think that is done so people buy mules for space which gives SE basically free money. And i think we will find out that a large % still plays on ps2, mainly the japanese.

If they drop PS2 I will switch... Untill then thats where I'll play as long as I can since it's what I'm used too. Tryed playing on PC but I just enjoy it more on ps2 for somereason. /shrug

I agree with you, playing on a console is so much better then pc, way less things to worry about and go wrong. I have never once dc'd in all the years i played on a ps2, since i have changed to pc i dc a couple times a week. PC's are for doing work, consoles are for playing games.

It runs the same on PS2 because they cannot possibly make it run any differently on other consoles due to the PS2's limitations. Clear enough?

Frankly I think they need to make the game less CPU intensive, even EVE Online (video card rapist) runs better than FFXI. ESPECIALLY while running two instances of Windower.
I can run 3 fine in 1900x1200 and oversampled. Ok as long as the 3 of them are not by a tele-crystal or conflux.
I'm using a 2-year old laptop though. :X

The japanese people I know from Fenrir were awesome. Never ever had issues with them.
I don't think I know what Mordion Gaol looks like, either. And I play the game by the book rules, too. Yet there's a lot of venon distillation against myself. Way to go. -__-

Learn to adapt with the times. Your inability to progress with society is leaving 90% of the game's playerbase with ***support and less than optimal progression.

Why is everyone suddenly raging?
Um, actually if you want to get with the times get a new game? FFXIV by chance? They have made games to take advantage of newer systems, you choose to play this one, deal with its limitations as you call them.

-Reuse old areas (see abyssea and wotg)
-Can only give us 80 invantory slots per container
-We only get 6 line macros
-A new full blown expansion can not be releaced
-More jobs can not be releaced
(These ones I'm not 100% sure on)
-Remaining duration on buffs can not be desplayed on the icons
-Who has what buffs can be desplayed)
I think there are a few more as well but can't remember them. The reason the PS 2 runs well is because everything the add is tailored and limited to be run by the PS2 before other systems.

You have absolutely no idea how this genre works. I suspect your grasp on the subject and the underlying source of your argument is that you only have a PS2 and don't want to shell out the 50 bucks it'd cost you to get a PC capable of running FFXI, or a 360.
Your points so far have told me that you have no idea on the limitations that the PS2's hardware, and to a lesser extent firmware, place upon the game. The PS2 is a disease that needs to be cut and cauterized for the long term health of this game. They're already running out of HDD space and have hit walls on a lot of features in the game that I'm sure everyone playing would like to see expanded.
