Very nice indeed ^^

I was able to get the connection running through Wifi, but how do you fit the hole screen into your psp?. On your videos, seems you're full screening ffxi

On my psp i can only see a fraction of the hole screen. I use 1920x1200 on the laptop. Do you have to reduce the laptop screen resolution?

so how does this work as far as playing long distance? i can see the use around the house but how does it work when i want to take this out and about during the day?

does my PC need to be left on at home connected to ffxi? does everything have to be connected b4 i leave? or am i able to access my pc on the psp without having to manually connect from my pc?

10 USD seems a small price to pay if this can really turn my psp into ffxi portable :P

you use wifi locations and dont pay no one anything.

jsut update your psp to the newest offical firmware 6.60

download the PSPdisp install it and run it
find the 6.60PRO B9 firmware youtupe the vidoe on its installation
then look tho this thread for the connand colntrol codes. copy the Resident evil one to your desktop. open it with notepad. then cop pase the ffxiah scan codes. save it. then rename itot Final fantasy. then put it back in the folder were u found it. set the Pspdisp comand contols to ffxi. then launch PSPdisp go setting and change the i.p address to the onw it shows on your pc screen. and enjoy. dont pay no one nothing .launch ffxi go to config and change the keyboard commands to compact . and enjoy your time.

took all of 5 mins to do. dont pay someone when peopel will teach you for free. p.m me any questions u may have and i will respond tommorrow

It looks really laggy like something is wrong in your video. o.o; Mine is much smoother playing. Might need to set a setting for better FPS. You also just uploaded that video today. ^^ You must of got the instructions from somewhere somehow. lol
yea i didnt adjust anything and at the time i took the video. i had 2 other accounts logged on in hte living room. as well as my wife watching Highlander episodes from netflix on her laptop. and port jueno isntthe best place to demo the smoothness when thers 400 people at the guide stone. i had it at highest detail. justot see waht it would do. i tweeked some setting later . my major consern was to see if i could just get it ot work. i had a harder time learning how to hack the O.S to allow me to use it. and finding a custom firmware that would work with my psp 3001

Okay I seem to be having an odd problem with my setup. I have a PSP Phat (PSP-1000, the original PSP) running official firmware 6.36 with HBL I can run pspdisp fine on wifi but gives me an error when I try USB. In addition to that, FFXI does not seem to respond to any commands the PSP gives. I'm using a personalized variation of Siren.Stint's control file. Testing the control feature with notepad it seems to work, somewhat. Up on the analog stick should respond with a 6 being typed, well, it only does that about 50% of the time. The other fifty percent it does nothing.

Otherwise, its a pretty cool program.

Edit: NVM, gave pspdisp admin rights on the PC end of things and the controls are working fine, just have to tweak the whole macro thing now.

You most pay for it on his website it's 10$ for each ffxi and ffxiv and it seem he have one for kingdom heart and final fantasy 10.

I run ffxi in a window and i turn down the resolution so it is big enough to see on the psp. When all is running i click maximize to make the window take the whole screen.

Here ya go, I made a control file. It was really too simple. I can see why it would feel overwhelming to some people.

Just for the sake of comfort I felt this layout worked best. Played for about 4-5 hours getting some EXP with it. Movement with the analog stick really started to get uncomfortable because of it's placement. I'm using a first gen PSP so it may be different for people on the PSPgo.

http://pastebin.com/6rjnNkn4 Copy and paste it into Notepad, or Notepad++. Save it as a control file. If that's too complicated, copy and paste it over one of the ones that's already there.

Dpad = Movement
Analog stick = Camera and menu commands
L + R triggers = Ctrl Alt macros
Triangle = select window
Cross = Confirm
Circle = Cancel
Square = Menu
Select = Heal/Lock
Start = Tab

Edit: I just wanted to add, PSPdisp is a really really awesome utility, not just for doing this. I've used a lot of remote desktop software in the past. For a free utility I can't believe how much work has gone into making this as user friendly as possible as well as keep the latency high enough to use for gaming. I'll probably be using this to control my media center from now on.

I was gonna provide an option to buy control files if they didn't want to make them. I was going to provide a guide so anyone can make it work without paying anything. Ive been thinking it over and i think ill just add a donate button. My site will provide pre-made control files for many games.

I guess when programmers program programs i can see why they don't allow open source. lol People just want everything for free. Kinda like Sony's PSP being hacked. Why hell..., everything should be free!! Free food and no work! We can all be lazy. Imagine if no one did anything. We can all just sleep under trees and eat the fruit that drops off of them. We wouldn't need money just respect. lol

Someone doesn't understand the open source philosophy and the relative worth of a glorified .ini file. Can we guess who?

But why do some people beg and beg for open source and the creator says NO! ?

Its must be for various reasons.

I think the fact that most efficient web browser (or at least a version of it) and the most reliable operating system out right now are both open source speaks for the effectiveness of the open source philosophy.

If the creator doesn't want open-source, it means they want to make money off of it. Apple is a good example of this.

If they dont make money then they cant make awesome products like Ipad, Ipods, Iphones, and sought after quality Mac PC's and more. If it was open-source all that stuff wouldn't exist. Kinda like me if i dont want to work for free. lol

They maintained open-source since before they got popular though. :P

Even though their OS is actually based on open-source work anyway.

That's a tiny piece of it. Open-source doesn't necessarily mean that the creator doesn't want to make money off of it, there are plenty of examples of companies that make income off supporting open-source software. See any commercial linux distribution, for instance.

There's also reasons to keep something closed source other than money. For example, Windower is closed source for security reasons, not because anyone wants to get rich off of it.

As for apple, last I checked they release the source for Darwin.

Restart pspdisp and check the ip address that it says it's using. Then on your psp go to the main menu and press "r". Then enter that ip address.

Try PSPdisp, it remotely displays your desktop on your PSP over wifi and you can assign commands to the PSP buttons/dpad/analog stick. I can't personally confirm, but it sounds like it's working fine on Vita. I'm not sure how to get homebrew on Vita, though. This looks like a good place to start. Good luck!
