This is where the hard work comes in...Just map the keyboard codes to the psp buttons. Make sure to learn the shortcuts on the keyboard that make FFXI playable with the keyboard cause if you can play FFXI with a keyboard you can play it with a PSP. ;)

Well I am currently deactivated from FFXI. I Ran Deus Ex fine but tbh I hate playing FPS games with a controller lol. I made a custom config setting and I just hate the fact I am limited by buttons. For example instead of a scroll wheel I have to select weapons and abilities from a main menu :(

All i did was install pspdisp and on psp then run pspdisp on psp. When you enable pspdisp on your PC it will say 192.168.0.2 or what ever your PC IP number it tells you then on psp select wlan mode it will search for your router then you may need to push home on the psp then select change settings r trigger then enter host ip address on slot 1 then it might work for you.

On your PC go to the PSP icon on the bottom OS task bar> right click> control>customize> Then open the control file folder to modify / add control files.

Kinda laggy compared to the USB mode though I guess a solution is a really long USB cable if you want to chill on your bed without lag lol

so how does this work as far as playing long distance? i can see the use around the house but how does it work when i want to take this out and about during the day?

does my PC need to be left on at home connected to ffxi? does everything have to be connected b4 i leave? or am i able to access my pc on the psp without having to manually connect from my pc?

10 USD seems a small price to pay if this can really turn my psp into ffxi portable :P

Yes you can play away from home and your PC has to be left on. To play away from home you must port-forward your router with the PC's IP address that will remoteplay to your PSP. Here is a pic of my port forward. The port number must be 17584/64506 for it to work on a port forward. Ive tested this and it works. The lag depends on the connection speed of the wifi connection and you can compensate by turning down the quality of the picture/sound on/off for less lag on poor wifi speed.

With PSPDisp you can also toggle to mouse mode and run different apps as well then set the control file you wish.

It looks really laggy like something is wrong in your video. o.o; Mine is much smoother playing. Might need to set a setting for better FPS. You also just uploaded that video today. ^^ You must of got the instructions from somewhere somehow. lol

All my videos i made here are without a usb cord. Its all wifi. Once in a while there is a lag stop even if your next to the router. Also if you are far away from the wifi router the lag gets worse.

noob psp modding question here. have a psp 1000 and thought this was interesting XD what i'm wondering is: psp mods that i know of usually require a much older firmware, though i just saw someone say to use the most recent. so would i need to downgrade or not to get pspDisp to run?

the new stuff works differently than the old from what iv seen so far. instead of modding u just turn on and load up a file and boom~ instahaxor. so it should work on the latest as suggested.

Theres CFW (custom firmware) for versions up to 6.35. My psp sat in my closet for over a year until 6.20 CFW came out. So its alot easier to softmod them now than it used to be.

A few years back if you wanted CFW you had to downgrade which required hardmodding (cutting wires) and using a special battery.

But no worries. Its pretty simple now. Just type in the version of OFW (official firmware) you have and look for a guide. I use 6.20 PRO B-6.

Also, I know a friend of mine had 6.35 and was able to downgrade to 6.20 pretty easily by just running some program.
