I know about the past and the maw and its fine if you don't mind the run but say once you run there, go through the maw, go in the back way of present Garlaige and then fall down the wrong hole only to be put back at the entrance? Running back would take awhile and there is never anyone in the zone to help open the gates.. its a lil outdated.
Theres is nothing that stops you from doing it solo, you just need to make 4 trips to the flame. The only issue is if another group/person comes along and goes through while you getting a flame but since they would be traveling the same path as you you would probably see them.
