Um Iron Ram gear says hi, there is plenty of other MDT gear around to cap without having to loose a single piece of the set.
There's the augmented dark rings, and colossus's mantle if you can think of some more efficient MDB swaps, but I can't think of anything.

well if he's got the gear, good for him. I'd say the vast majority of people don't and Campaign is easy street. The set is still some of the best gear around and a regular part of my rotation.

I don't own Nocturnus so the absorb rate is unknown to me, but I'm sure the AF3 rate is similar, also if you pick up a minerva's you can drop Askar for AF3 and a higher absorb. But no, anything you bring a PLD to these days, shadows don't generally cut it. op gear sets i didn't read a damn thing at all in this except for that. I saw her saying suppa and using honorbound. So i was like.. well I thought plds don't use /nin any more. And also even /nin you always had to use a shield regardless. Suppa actually isn't an awful TP earring even with a shield, since it's got 5 sword skill, but there are much better things if you aren't dual wielding.
For ppl referencing Minerva's, that's for ochain only eh? It's not hard to cap mdt without adding 8%. When compared to a 5/5 dark ring thats a difference in -3mdt and +13% pdt. That probably ends up being 2-3 mdb overall or ethereal earring. It's common to take both physical and magical dmg at the same time or before you can swap back. I don't think its worth the inventory or trouble to use in the correct situations.
