RNG Nerf gone?
I friend telling me today that she heard from someone else that the nerf where RNG attack was based on distance from mob was gone. Can anyone confirm the rumor for me please.
It's false. The "Nerf" is still there.

OK, I think I can see how this mistake could have been made.
The Version Update broke the Automaton Ranger and Blue Mage Ranged spells. Someone even said it broke blue mage's non ranged piercing spells, so it could just have been related to piercing damage for Blue Mage and Automatons.
Either way, it was patched, meaning "ranged" was fixed or unnerfed.
But this didn't apply to rangers or another job using bow, xbow, gun, shurikens, darts, and whatnot.
Because of the language used to describe the nerf and unnerf, I can see this as an honest mistake.
However:

The RNG story is a long one. Basically though, RNG right now is in an awesome place and right where it should be. Velocity Shot was the final addition that perfected the changes that were made in the past. The comment your friend made was probably in relation to Sharpshot which does remove the distance modifier on accuracy. Double check that though.
If the supposed nerf is stopping you from leveling RNG then you're missing out on a really fun job for no reason.

This happens all the time to me on RNG, its especially weird when (for example last night) im level synced to 55, as my sidewinder ALWAYS does 800 flat. Mind you this is with no food (*** food on non merit birds) and no PPA (due to the sync).

I was swopping in AGI gear, as i cant afford a good STR swap build atm. Even then its only a drone earring and an rk belt +1 since i keep the genin equipped whilst tping along with a vision earring. No brd or anything here either, i just found ti weird how no matter what i did couldnt go over 800, wouldnt really want to tbh, i have to sit on my tp every once and a while as it is. Wouldn't wanna gimp myself by sitting on tp like someone /war inevitably has to >.<

I solo on any job I can while lfp. FoV or not, anything to get me to 75 quicker. I have people in my LS who cry about not getting invites and it taking so long for them to get 75. They sit in Whitegate and QQ
about not getting a party so I tell them to stfu and go do FoV or Campaign.
People that aren't in a party obviously.

Machine is cool for spammage, but when the amount you drain with bloody bolts is directly proportional to the amount of damage you do it really shines. Wiki says bloodys have an int mod to em, but it seems mainly to be based on the damage the shot does (at least in my experience).

I knew a super pimp rng that solo most god pop nms and a couple of gods. Granted this dude spent like 3 years after getting to 75 just making his rng better but it can be done. Also i see rngs soloing qirins all the time

Takes a bit of int to make a huge difference otherwise itd be too good. Roughly from my thf id say a good +5 or more int just to get 1 more drain. 1 good thing about being a taru i naturally drain just a little bit more :)

I have an O-Bow already, RNG is 18. Killed NM with 2 others farming for a WHM test and I power lot it. Gonna go camp shadow in Fei'Yin. If I can get V-Bow then I'll level RNG.

Yeah you can tell i REALLY dont like Eastern shadow, 16hr window and all i would have to kill it with is BRD.... yeah no way in hell i was getting that lmao. Hard enough having the patience to camp it, let alone find people to basically kill it for me >.>
