If they turned resident evil into a mmorpg I would so be there I love zombie stuff.
First mmorpg I played was lool... Vampire masquerade: redemption. Cool game I would make my own 3d characters from scratch using some 3d model software.

I'm not a fan of Nexon games. They look nice on video, but once you start playing, the games turn out to be very buggy and glitchy... you would expect that as they are free to play. However! they are better than most free to play games out there by other companies.

Yeah Korea releases awful MMO's with flashy ideas constantly. There are no good Korean MMOs.

Enjoy your micro-transactions and unbalanced gameplay.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Ive quit FFXI and have been trying to find a new game similar to how FFXI used to be, but pretty much all I can find are games similar to WoW..and ones like this. I started playing RIFT but still its so easy to level...Lv50 4-5 days..and nothing is really too fun. The feeling you get when you reached 75 in FFXI and the feeling when you kill your first HNM and when you craft your first Scp +1(22M at the time =D) etc etc, thats what kept me playing. I remember it used to take 1-2months to hit 75 in FFXI and now you can do it in 1-2days. FFXI was old though so they had to do something to keep people playing. I just hope a game comes out copying the old FFXI and no more of these WoW copies and korean garbage.

Yeah, Dragon Nest is promising a lot, but it's no FFXI alternative.

Regardless, the only MMO I plan on trying out is TERA online, and it's going to be a Pay-to-play MMO from Korea, so that alone is a HUGE gamble.

We'll see.

Lots of T&A. I didnt really see any "role playing" element. Looked like Soul Caliber crossed with Tekken or something.

I might be old fashioned, but if I'm playing a game/watching a video of a large male beating the face of a small woman to a pulp, I prefer it to be cartoony and *not* life-like

Rift has cartoony graphics? Seems far more on the side of realism to me.

holy grinding Batman! Rift is a game for fun, not for hardcore grinding. You burned yourself out.

The Korea thing said above, that is all.

Edit: but that does look better than FFXIV. And that game supposedly wasn't made in Korea. It was China.

Lineage II? City of Heroes? Guild Wars? They're all made by the same South Korean company and have been reviewed pretty favorably.

Ragnarok Online is still an extremely popular MMO that's spawned multiple games and even an anime.

Maple Story currently has more active players than FFXI and is pretty fun if you're in to side-scrollers.

I think he means the New Wave of Korean MMOs. Capitalized to be very particular.

Before MMOs were popular all of the names ring a bell without even knowing where they're from. Every game you mentioned besides possibly City of Heroes is old-era.

Doesn't anyone else see that these people keep pushing out the same games with the flashiest new graphics and a trailer that focuses on the even flashier gameplay for a few western subscriptions? I don't even know how that makes money but apparently it's really easy to develop games like that nowadays or something.

Lineage II
Isn't that the HD FFXI clone, with better cinematics/character models?

Paladin in Ru'Lude Gardens?

(notice how most of the chars look very similar to the FFXI chars)
edit: is that ***in San d'Oria?

I really wish FFXI had this, though:
