I have no personal experience learning this from him, but I've heard that you can. I think it's probably worth trying for since he's pretty low lvl.

Yeah I think I'm gonna give it a shot. I'll post a screenie if successful!
As long as the mob can use the move, you should be able to learn it from them. The only exception to this is subfamilies/classes like the ToAU beastmen where you get one spell from each subgroup.
Awesome. Also good work on doing blu right. Too many people burn blu's lvls and then farm "only useful" spells. I believe that's a complete disrespect for blu. I believe, too, that it's the same for all mages, but I don't have any other mages leveled although selling cruor or farming the spells yourself isn't tough.
Faelar, I just hit 80 BLU myself, missing some of the sea spells and a few douchey ones like body slam as well. I don't plan to go any higher until I get all the ones up to 80, if you're interested in teaming up for some of them.

I printed off the list of Blue Magic and I've been checking them off as I learn them. So far I'm @ 74/135 spells learned.

I learned Body Slam on accident lol.. I did the WoTG BC with that dragon as a trio on blu/pld/blm before the 75 cap was lifted. Had no idea it even used it, and learned it 1/1 lol.

You ***! I took 3x groups to kill dahaks in Mount Zylom (sp?) and tried a bunch of times on the FoV nm in Xarca and finally got it while climbing Nyzule Isle. That was spell number 3 that I got from Nyzule cause I refused to go any other job besides blu just in case we would fight mobs that I could learn from that I couldn't solo.

Sweet. 1 less headache to deal with.
Fight the ones at the north part of Abyssea - Tahrongi and you'll learn it in minutes.

I've seen a SAM/NIN f**k it up in a few minutes. Just meditate, turn, WS when it starts casting something. Keep shadows up to absorb its uber-Drain and should be a cakewalk. If you have Fudo should be able to 2-3 shot it.

Drain. His version of it is uber, can do upwards of 1.5-2.5k, and ignores shadows :/
