not sure exactly how it works...but
in coast, i noticed getting 128 azure off of murex, but in chasm i would only get 16, maybe it is zone specific?

The lights they give arn't always consistant... Ive goten anywhere between 16 80 128 azure from cilonds for example that i have noticed.

Avatars meaning non-VNM.
After killing bhumi multiple times, I realized he does not always give 128 amber. While Murex's almost always give 128 azure in Misareaux

Pretty sure it's based on the zone's bastion status. (For vunk/atto/misa anyways)
Has anyone found something that gives enhanced Pearl lights? I've been doing T1 VNMs for pearl lights didnt know if there was a better way ^^
Never gotten less from misar hq than 128 azure. It give 16 amber and 5 pearl also. Small sample of 200 +. Friend swares it gave more pearl but I never seen more than 5
it is because Lights are connected on how you read the mob(specifically on ephemereals).
Easy prey -> poor lights
Very tough -> good lights
this was introduced in november update i believe, when they basically designed mobs to despawn after levelling up.
basically more people are in the zone farming lights and better it is for lights.

Yeah i'ev seen 128 lights drop off Murex in Mis Coast only. No other zone
If what you say is correct about the avatar's giving 128 for amber this will deff come in handy farming those Dark rings I have been after. I will test this out. Getting desperate for fast amber build.

I've had that happen too, sometimes Ephermal give only 5, other times they can give up to a whopping 128. Haven't been able to figure out what triggers it, if anything.

I'd love to hear more information about this.
Getting 128 amber lights from killing an avatar NM sounds MUCH more efficient than killing a few dozen normal mobs for 5 amber lights per kill.
Are you saying that all avatar NMs like Bhumi, Jala, and Fulmontodoro give 128 amber lights each kill?

Murex still gave 128 Azure and Jala still gave 128 amber each.

In my experience, it is. Did Mis Coast and La Theine last week. Carby gave 128 amber, as did Jala. 100% of the time (even though I think it can vary depending on other stuff).
This applies to Josiah too.
There's a problem for Attohwa's Avatar Tejas. I think since may update I have never seen Tejas at all. I even tried widescanning it and it was never seen since then.

I haven't spent much time in Attohwa, but the last few times I've been there I don't remember seeing any Ifrits =o Will check it out when I can and submit something to SE if needed.

Honestly, now that you mention it, I haven't seen Fulmon or Tejas lately. I remember looking for Fulmon around the bridge to Sippoy a few times been working on getting another diamond ring for blm... I just haven't been able to find him, other people may be killing but to not see him in any of his usual locations is odd.
Also I noticed the worms near Uluadashi / Pallid Percy seem to give excellent pearl lights

Nope, we capped Amber and Azure just 3 days ago with 2 Jala and 2 Murex

Does the abyssite a person is holding when they get the killshot effect the number of lights in any way?
For example things like;
*The bearer will come upon treasure caskets more frequently in Abyssea.
*The bearer will experience greater fortune with golden pyxides in Abyssea.
*The bearer will experience greater fortune with red pyxides in Abyssea.
etc..
Was wondering if stacking these effected the lights you get in some way when killing? Or do they just effect the chance a chest drops when you kill an enemy?
