So I'm looking to take PLD from 75-90, but I haven't touched it since early 2010 so my gear is mainly a mix of:
homam, valor, I.R, askar, and an aegishjalmr.
So my questions now are,
How do PLD gear generally? DD setups still? Full defense now? Macro in haste/enmity?
I'll be going for +1 AF3 and the accs, but is there anything else I should be looking for?

If you go for an Almace, may as well get an Ochain as well.
I retired pld cause too many ppl are unable to use it properly or are convinced its uselss. But just go for full af3+2, emp sword and shiled and fill in the rest with w/e.
Some ppl do dd pld which i dont like so its kinda up to u what u like.

I made my Almace for BLU, I have no intentions of putting my LS through Ochain for a job I'd never use. Same should be said for anyone, but if you plan on playing PLD more often than any other Almace job, make the Ochain. It's the biggest gear upgrade PLD can make.

PLD is good for neither tanking nor DDing, may as well choose the lesser of two evils and try to DD. Also, full AF3+2 is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.
I've always been more of a defense PLD then a DD one. I had a full DD set for things like nyzul back in the day, but if I'm on PLD to tank something I find better results with defense/enmity etc.

TP'ing in Enmity/HP rings did so much for you at 75 when you werent hitting the mob yo~
DD setup has always been the way to go. Lrn2Macro, you do it for DD jobs, suck less and do it for PLD too.

Every other job holds hate better than PLD just DD'ing what the hell makes you think your holding hate off them by gimping your own damage? lol
Damage is the strongest form of enmity, which is why atonement was so amazing at 75.

Almace is incredibly easy, Ochain is much harder. Defense/VIT/Enmity/etc. are worth nothing.

Get an Ochain and then gear for DD, best of both.

Fixed. Even Almace doesn't fix it, unfortunately. Play PLD because you enjoy it, don't expect to tank or top the DD charts.
