May 2011 - Additional Version Updates

Event-related

The following additions / adjustments will be made to Voidwatch.

A new item that will act as a substitute for the voidstone has been added.

Additional texts will be added to the Goblin NPCs that sell the key items to enter Dynamis. These new text will assist players by explaining the new system in detail.
Adjusting the location of the synergy furnace in Jeuno.


Battle-related

We will be making changes to how certain monsters in the following areas will detect a player character. In addition, the monster placement of certain notorious monsters will be adjusted.
Ranguemont Pass / Bostaunieux Oubliette / Toraimarai Canal / Zeruhn Mines / King Ranperre's Tomb / Dangruf Wadi / Inner Horutoto Ruins / Ordelle's Caves / Outer Horutoto Ruins / Eldieme Necropolis / Gusgen Mines / Crawlers' Nest / Maze of Shakhrami / Garlaige Citadel / Fei'Yin
The following additions / adjustments will be made to Grounds of Valor.

Adjusting the amount of experience points earned upon completion of a regime.
Increase the number of “Grounds Tome” placed within the designated areas.

The following adjustments will be made to the puppetmaster job.

The following adjustments will be made to the new automaton attachments.

Heat Capacitor
It will no longer erase all Fire Maneuver effects.
* Please note that the help message for the attachment will be adjusted at a later date.
Power Cooler
It will reduce the MP cost even if there are no Ice Maneuvers in effect.
Galvanizer
It will increase the chance of countering even if there are no Thunder Maneuvers in effect.

The following adjustments will be made to the new weapon skills that were added. In addition, we will address an issue wherein the damage of the weapon skill is not calculated properly.

String Shredder
Increasing the damage and the addition of status bonuses.
Armor Shatterer
Increasing the damage and the addition of status bonuses.
Changing the skillchain element from Fragmentation / Scission to Fusion / Impaction.

The following issue with the summoner job will be addressed.

An issue wherein the damage of “Crescent Fang,” “Mountain Buster,” “Tail Whip” is higher than intended.

The following additions / adjustments will be made to Abyssea.

The game will remember the Atma that the player was last infused with.
Adjustments will be made to the new methods that were added to obtain empyrean upgrade items.
Placing additional “???” which can be used to spawn certain notorious monsters.
Adjusting the location of new Abyssea support NPCs that have been added to San d’Oria / Bastok / Windurst.


Item-related

Increasing the number of new linkshells that are sold.


Other issues that will be addressed

An issue wherein a previously etched aperture is removed from an item during synergy.
An issue wherein certain text within the Fellowship Quest is incorrect.

Probably within the month if it is specifically addressing the confirmed issues of the May update. As to when the patch is released, who knows... May as well exploit a few things while we still can.

Additional update: BST will no longer be able to cap PDT- and possibly MDT-

This would make me happy... but realisticly i see it being the NMs in heros zones that drop pop items (not KIs) for NMs there. Which would still make me happy : )

Fantastic news if true, will definitely alleviate congestion some!

Yeah, it means more Empyreans in the end, but I love wallowing in the tears of the hardcore players at this point.

This update instantly beats the one from 2 days ago. Not as good as a 'favorites' type build, but still.

Like the Tiger in Altepa and Sisphyus?

Not sure those are entirely a huge issue since those items can be obtained with some regularity through gold boxes.

Amun/Gukumatz/Heqet/Tunga have one source - and with the server mergers, that source got a lot more crowded.

Sorry but, unless i missed the ??? in misareaux, Gukumatz only pops from its timed spawn still, 2 LSs were fighting over it when i checked (5 mins ago), so as i said, unless i missed it, its not those NMs.

Oh ok, then its good news kinda, if they make gukumatz and cia. forced pop from a trigger obtained off the mobs around the ???, all empyreans will see their 2nd stage much easier.

I was dreading the day of camping guku again for my almace but guess ill wait til next update at least.

They've already lowered the repop on the time spawned nms from 1 hour to 10 minutes. I don't see them changing the entire way NMs pop.

I respectfully disagree with this.

With the direction that SE has been taking in making everything easier, and more convenient for players (i.e. kings) it would make sense for them to make Gukumatz, & Amun force pop NMs.

One can only speculate. Either way this could be pleasant.

Besides, the servers that merged the first time had to deal with Guku, Heqet, Tunga ect. getting extra crowded and we're moving along just fine....I don't see why the 2nd group of merged servers can't handle it, no offense.

Yup.. I discovered 12PM PST - 4PM PST was about the best time to do Chukwa. Amun was never camped much during the times I went.. Typically after 7PM PST. Guku is crowded 24/7 though. Not looking forward to doing a Kannagi unless it really will be a pop item for Guku.

The Dyna change isn't bad in my opinion.. We're one pop away from doing the mega mega boss of Bastok. That PLD/RNG NM is a total PITA though.

From what I've heard the servers that got merged this time got alot more boned then last time... I went from seeing 1800-2200ish people on in world search to 3kish when pandy merged with asura. This time i think ive seen some numbers like 5k thrown around? IDK for sure though maybe people are just exagerating.
