When I make a new post, while I can tell the page is supposed to jump down to that post, it never does...

Post times displayed in local times. Either by setting a timezone preference with DST option, or using JS to display the correct time based on the machine's settings.

Will there be a separate search set up just for the forum?
I realize that duplicate threads will still occur, but I like being able to search and see if a topic already exists.

I have to second this one...I've been looking through the forums the last couple of days and feel that a search feature for the forums would be a major improvement.

To avoid alla horrors at a site I run I made topics ratable instead of individual posts. Theres no total score on individual users either.

Is that search bar new? :o
Its up there when looking at Topics (Suggestions, General, Bugs, etc).

Any possible way to limit people from posting on other server forums in order to prevent pointless trolling by people from different servers? Ex: Person would require a character be registered on Pandemonium forums to post on said forum.

Edit: Bonus if done-- Would cut out hundreds of pointless trolling posts that contain no value whatsoever.

Edit2: The point of server specific forums, in my mind, are for members of that specific server to post on with the intended audience being other members of that server. If everyone is just going to post on every single board anyway, what's the point? May as well limit it to General forums.

The topic I believe you're referring to is, in a broad sense, a community issue. As for the OP of said topic, it's like /b/: Proof or GTFO (or "*** or gtfo").

Also ever consider that we have server transfers now? Aside from PMs, how are players who have left one server for another stay in contact with that server as a whole (if they want to) if they are limited to their current server's forum?

Another thing that comes to mind: This is the internet. No matter where you go, there will be trolls on message boards, just like how there will be RMTs in any MMORPG and any server. Just be glad this isn't /b/, because that would mean we're all trolls who not only spam F5, but post random porn and posts that are nothing but the same 4 letters with a space between them over and over until the post character limit is reached.

My third comment is this: Most server-specific forums are kind of...dead. At least Garuda's is. It's so lonely that I have to chime in elsewhere to try to get some kind of stimulating conversation. If it's not a server-specific drama problem (for example, stealing a Kraken Club), then I feel that either:

A: The poster is posting in the wrong damn forum to begin with.
B: You're letting the discussion open to everyone.

An example of (B) was the Garuda topic about Marlen--while generally a Garuda problem, others came in with both trolling AND relevant comments. Did we care that they weren't from Garuda? No.

If it's server-specific crap, I usually don't give a damn unless the person washes up on Garuda after people chase them away with torches, pitchforks, and an 8 foot rope tied in a very specific knot, in which case I'll hear about it soon enough to avoid that person.

BBCode for font colors. Can it really be that hard?

Yeah, I know...I'm asking for this so I can poke more fun at WoW over on Thunderblaze's thread. I tried coloring "EPIC WIN!" purple (as a joke on the item text color from WoW for epic-quality items)...and turns out that BBCode doesn't work on these forums. Every win fails eventually? Yep.

I added green highlighting on the forums to show what has been read by the user. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing at this point. (FYI, for topics that haven't been active after I added this feature, have just been marked as read by default)

I'm hoping people use the main forum page a little more than before.
