Spellcast helper with Windows Form Application
here is a new link if you want to mess with it, SpellcastHelper1.01 (creates basic xml file with just 1 gear set in specified location)
link is also on the first post~ I mean no disrespect by posting this but there is already something like this. :(
SpellCast Builder On the upside the developer of this has seemed to quit, or is just taking a long time. You could potentially make something better. I'd look forward to it. I make a lot of spellcast scripts for friends and taking some of the work out of making the sets saves me time. There shouldn't be any here! Setups like those give me more ideas for the future. I'm going for full on customization as far as I can take it though! lol Good luck :) I'll check in every now and then to see the progress!

Like I said somewhere else, I'm being lazy :p I have actually been putting in a lot of thought into how I might re-build my application after reading this and another post about SpellCast to add support for rules and I thought to myself: Most sets have a specific set of rules, you could create a set and attach the rules to it. I was thinking about having an area to build sets and a separate area to build the rules. With my new idea each set would have its rules attached to it when you edit the set. Multiple Item sets!~ along with some organization. SpellcastHelper1.02
Going to try and start doing some rules, basic nonetheless but still possibly a functional spellcast file! Wont let me run V1.02 says its installed from another location?

It may be useful to people if when you click "Save XML" some sort of message and/or dialog box appeared saying "Your XML file, [Filename] has successfully been saved at [location]"

SpellcastHelper1.03 (create and edit any item set + boxes update for every itemset) Not sure if many people know, but typing //sc exportgear [filename] in game makes item sets for you based on currently equipped items.
Must say I'm interested in seeing how you end up doing rules however. :) wooooo, I have success with reading other .xml files! strictly just item sets though. To be able to load an interface with the right gear in the right place from a file that might have its gear in a completely different order was quite a stretch to get around!
my god this is gonna take forever, lol! SpellcastHelper1.04 (this one has the ability to read spellcast files and import all your item sets into the user interface) I disabled the "save xml" button if you load a file for safety issues because I don't have this working with rules yet. There may be some glitches in this one that I have not figured out yet, if you find any please notify me.
Example image: oh gawd midnight *bump*
Hoping some of you can test this out for me. Poke around with it and tell me if you can find errors. ^^ I want the item sets to be as solid as possible before I move on to rules/variables. hmmmm just though of making a check case for "sub set" to make sure if there is actually an item set that matches up with it to be pulling data from. some progress toward rules:

Hoping to see the next update soon. Never been able to figgure out spellcast so this would be of great help, keep upp the good work ^.^
I am a total noob to spellcast, but since I started using multiboxer for a mule, I feel I cannot put this off any longer. So, I plan on going through each of my jobs and creating xmls.
Is this program, in its current state, usable to at least make it easier to type in the names of gear/slots into notepadd++? I realize it will not be able to do everything I want, but gear-wise anyway...can it be used to just shorten my xml writing experience? Thanks for any info anyone can give. If you want the latest version that will create competent item sets for now, feel free to ask because I haven't sent it out yet. I would love something like this!!!
Have always wanted to use spellcast, but it seemed too complicated for just a game....even though I know it isn't THAT bad, but just lazy I guess >.> |
