FFXIAH Dat Section

I was going to add a section to my website at one point for dats. I sent out some PMs and made a couple posts. I got some positive feedback, but I didn't feel it was enough to warrant the work. Since that other site was just up and coming as well, I didn't want to slap them in the face by trying to directly compete with them.

There's also the issue of posting others' work without asking.

Edit: HOWEVER, if there are some good dat making guides out there, I wouldn't be opposed to putting a copy on my site (with permission of course).

Pardon if I'm necro bumping this, but I recently thought of an idea regarding this.

While a full section for DATs may seem a little unrealistic, does that necessarily mean the idea is shot down? I was thinking we could just have a single thread in the FFXI General section, specifically for the modders who don't want to host their work on the other website. We wouldn't post anything that's already available elsewhere, but for the new up-and-coming modders with their own original works that are a part of this community, this is where they could post it. We'd handle our own download links of course via Mediafire or whatever people use.

Thoughts anyone?
