Yes it's the original FF4 and the after years.

You can use the nostalgia card or excuse as much as you want, but older games despite their less than modern graphics held their own identity and charm. Because most games were non competitive in terms of graphics, they had to make up for it elsewhere to gain the trust and purchase of their target audience. Therefore you'll notice that despite how old it looks, how MIDI like the sound was, the music, gameplay and stories tend to be unrivaled; especially by today's standards.

It isn't out yet for EU or NA, it comes out next month. The JP version was already released and there for so was the ISO. The JP version allows you to choose English as language and play the game fully in English. There are ton of ISO floating around, just download and play on CFW on English setting.

I just started playing, maybe 3 hours in. Goddamn its hard. Im playing the story after FF4, where cecil is king and everyone is all grown. You play as cecil's son. Man, random battles out the ***, and the beginning mobs are raping the *** outta me. And im grinding levels, and they still off the chain. Definately not easy like SNES game.
Also, i got it from a torrent...its JP/English language. Modded psp.

It's a double edged sword really. Remakes polish and shine original games more often than not to the point where it is unrecognizable as the game it intended to remake. Yeah it looks pretty, but it ends up becoming a different product altogether which to someone who has played the original will look more like a perversion than a legitimate remake.

While this can be true, It honestly doesn't apply to FF4. They didn't even do much visually because it almost looks exactly like it did in the past lol aside from cutscenes.

NDS Was cool at first but the voice acting was kinda crappy, the dialogue didn't make it any better. If you argue any different do you also think Megaman X4/Resident Evil/2/3 had good voice acting as well? So far I'm enjoying this PSP remake because of the HD art for one. The Music is really up there while NDS had nice remixed music as well.

Yes, and you all mustn't forget that FFIV is a classic. Sure, you can boost graphics and remake songs, but it's difficult to really recreate the charm that the original had.
In that sense, the original is "better". Call it nostalgia glasses if you want, but that doesn't change the fact that most people like originals better.
There's a reason why sequels usually suck in comparison to originals. There are a few notable exceptions, of course, but the first movie/game of a series is often the best.
