Just downloaded this for psp today. Game takes me waaaay back, but the entirely new story set years after the original with all your favorite old characters all grown up is the best part! Anyone else tried it yet?
Whoa, no way? That sounds awesome. FF4 is one of my favorites, it was the start of my FF addiction. I liked FF1, but when FF4 was released on SNES as FF2... I was hooked.

From my quick research, looks like a Wii only thing. I see roms for it, so I guess you could get one of those and do it on PC.

because the DS version of the game is ***. Augments were cool until I realized how seriously broken they were, and the graphics are hardly a step up from 2D. The voice acting was ***too.

Did they reduce the difficulty or something in the remake? I can't see someone hating a remake that does nothing but enhance graphics and add new content, but I know sometimes in these remakes they do gimp bosses and such.
I don't find the graphics appealing, personally. They look kinda gross. The augment system I could have done without as well since you can turn one character into someone that can solo the entire game.
Nope they actually made it harder. The DS version is the hardest FF4 out. The only complaint I could see him having is the fact you can't play as the old characters in end-game like you could in the previous remake of FF4. Instead they gave you their abilities and let you replay the game 3 times with new dungeon/boss. It most definitively is a superior version, in addition to the awesome CS and VA they have.

The cutscenes are great, the voice acting becomes grating and irritable. Some of the voices forced me to mute my DS. And yes, the augment system is my main complaint with the game, and it's a deal breaker for me.
NDS was decent. So sue me.
So the deal breaker about the game is something that is optional? You do realize you don't even need augments to beat the game or play it normally? The voices were amazing, dunno what ***you are talking. I honestly think you just must be some 30+ year old with a nostalgia complex and hating anything new. Whatever makes you happy old man.
