This ^ lol seriously? Izey, you used a generalization and essentially said "JP SUCK!" because you got kicked out of a JP party. Many NA and EU people do the same thing to other languages. Would it be fair to you if someone said that your country was horrible JUST because someone from your country was a major ***? Of course it wouldn't. What you did here was show that you aren't tolerant at all towards other countries. There are bad apples in every country and there are even those that just don't want to play with people of a different language. I, personally, do not like playing with people who only speak Spanish. This doesn't mean that I think that ALL Spanish speaking people are arrogant, ignorant or anything else. You make the point of Freedom of Speech. Go up to the President and tell him that you want to kill him. Let's see how fast you can exclaim this "Freedom" before you get gunned down. The US lacks most of these "freedoms" that you all brag about so much.
Also, @ Skarwind: Stay out of it, sir. The USA is actually worse off than Japan and no matter what you say to insult me, all I have to do to insult you is make the point that you are a citizen of the hypocritical United States of America.
I'm American and I don't see it as an insult. Hell I pitty you for your attitude. You are calling us as a nation hypocritical when you, yourself called Izey a racist over less insulting terms. People like you are the reason people talk ***about the Japanese people. You make them look bad.
Also us worse off? Open your eyes, we didn't have villages swept out to sea, or thousands of unfortunate people vanishing into the ocean without a trace. Instead of holding bitterness toward you I pitty you. I would like to help Japan any way I can. What are you doing for your homeland while foreigners are making a difference? You are still implying that I'm not a US citizen and that I was born and raised in Japan, which I wasn't. Yes, US citizens are worse off. Japan was struck by a natural disaster. At least the Japanese politicians aren't destroying the country, unlike in the USA.
@ Izey: Read my above statement first. Second, every country has people that say horrible things about it. Third, learn basic grammar and spelling, please. Sometimes, it gets hard to make out the point that you are trying to get across. Lastly, it's not racist for them to not want to play with you. Again, I don't want to play with people who speak Spanish, but that doesn't make me racist. I just don't like playing with people that can't properly speak a language that I'm familiar with because, more often than not, there will be a communication problem which will lead to problems within the party.
Simple put, if you don't like the fact that these servers harbor different nationalities and the "discrimination" that comes with it, go play a different game. People had this same problem in FFXI, even though I never did, and those people either dealt with it or they left the game. It's that simple.
I have to disagree that we are worse off, yes politics are getting stupid. But the reason they get so much coverage is because at times the news has nothing better to report about (You can blame Palin for getting media coverage really though it's amusing). Also you want to justify discrimination and yet say it's not racist. Hypocritical again my friend, people have every right to complain about the way things are. They pay for said service just as much as you do.

So like good god man, if people can work with others without a problem or sucking it up. God forbid you slay dragons and get treasure together. Maybe if you make an effort to work together, people wouldn't see you guys as basement dwelling otaku who *** a Sakura Haruno blow up doll every night. Give it a few years though I'm sure it won't matter. A majority of JPs will become some of the biggest gimps around.

It's racist to generalize an entire country based off of a few parties within a video game where most are typically children or teens. It isn't racist to not want to play with someone who speaks a different language or someone who can't comprehend the party's general language well enough to get things done. I've even partied with NA players whom I have kicked for not knowing their own language well enough to speak coherently when a question or problem arises. It's not just because they speak a different language, it's because they can't understand me and I can't understand them so I shouldn't have to deal with problems, when they come up, due to a language barrier.
Work is a different matter. There, you are getting paid to deal with those people. In a game, I'm paying to deal with those people and if I don't feel like dealing with them, I don't have too. The same goes for EVERYONE who plays a game online. No one is going to force you to deal with anything that you don't want to deal with.

Culture differences are not what cause people to not play with one another. It comes down to the individual. Whether they understand a language it matters, but only to a certain point. My LS on Wutai server consists of Americans, Europeans, and Japanese. We all work together just fine, if the drive to communicate and better ourselves as players is there, then there will be no problems after some mistakes. On our server I have yet to see "<insert nation here> only" It seems we get along fine on ours. I think in general if you are having problems with this its one of 2 things:
1. You joined a predominate majority nationality server. Thus they want to keep things tight nit.
2. Players on your server have caused them to resort to this due to bad playing, insulting, or constant lack of party coordination.
Our LS generally parties with just our own members, but we do accept others into party for anything pretty much, excluding our NM runs.
These posts you guys are making are not helping solve the problem, you are just throwing oil on this fire. Try to come up with solutions instead.

I know I need someone to tell me to look up relevant information or how to kill the same damn mob 4,000 times (Refering to a FFXI exp party). JP only wouldn't seem racist to me at all if it was a harder battlefield.
If someone *** up the simple stuff they're going to do that if you can call them a dumbass in their language or another though. Just an opinion.

Thats funny because i tough their mentality would have evolved with FFXIV, so far i was wrong.
Today i got kicked of 6 different PT for not being JP, did it happen to others? because for me yesterday was the 1st time i saw a shout with "JP only" in it, after a solid 6 months of release i was quite shocked.
Inb4 "You QQ because you got kicked blablabla" i'd like ppl view of this problem which has been a cancer for most of us in FFXI, i was hoping to not see it again here.
