"JP Only"

Thats funny because i tough their mentality would have evolved with FFXIV, so far i was wrong.

Today i got kicked of 6 different PT for not being JP, did it happen to others? because for me yesterday was the 1st time i saw a shout with "JP only" in it, after a solid 6 months of release i was quite shocked.

Inb4 "You QQ because you got kicked blablabla" i'd like ppl view of this problem which has been a cancer for most of us in FFXI, i was hoping to not see it again here.

Just be grateful you're NA if you indeed are. It's JP > NA > EU and it always will be. No communal release date is gonna change that. You can also hold solace in that we invented the internet and the automocar! We don't need no JPs to validate us.

Most JP are racist towards NA have been like that since 1945. but thats not really the point. lot of JP onry groups dont speak english of w/e at all and really dont give a damn to try. very sad though seeing my friends getting kicked from groups because they need to use the auto translater and i dont. seeing i leae so they dont feel to bad >.>

I remember getting kicked from a JP party last year... the irony was it happened on August 6th. Made me laugh.

It's difficult to coordinate a party when somebody doesn't speak the same language as everyone else. I can understand preferring to only group up with people you can communicate with well.

That being said, there ARE more polite ways to ask that person to leave then to just kick them out.

I get in JP party all the time but its because the leader know ENG. THe onces i get kick from is because it's too hard for them to explain what we doing so they just kick then trying.

That's right, you would probably kick someone who can not understand English, when you want a smooth party and you do not desire to be slowed down...

The Japanese would do the same.

Play and let play, or learn Japanese, most Japanese players know basic English, however almost no one (who play mmos) in NA knows Japanese.


It's not a matter of race, It's a matter of communication, I know a lot of very kind Japanese players who even ask me about Spanish stuff in English.

Japanese culture focuses on group solidarity as opposed to individualism whereas ours does the opposite. There is nothing wrong with either methodology, but seeing as how most Americans that get invited into Japanese parties make no effort to assimilate to Japanese cultural norms, of course the Japanese will lose patience and just go with JP onry.

as stated before it's more of an efficiency thing for most, same way english kick if you're gimp or HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE, granted there are some flat out douchebags anyway, but every country has those

the majority of JP know english in some form or another too, it's whether or not they feel comfortable enough to say it, especially when people make fun of broken english, they feel they're not good enough to talk on your level, so they don't

so many people expect other races to know english, but they don't even spend time learning said language, if you want to avoid things like this, go learn simple japanese, it's not hard, meet them halfway instead of expecting them to talk english for you all the time

JP are actually more fond of NA/EU than you'd think, though maybe a little less on MMOs

Man your guys servers must suck(social wise) =.= I know my server(Wutai) is one of the least developed, but from what I see, Japanese, NA, Euro, etc... all get along fine. I have played in Japanese parties before and have had no problems whats so ever. But hell, it does not really matter, if they say Japanese only then just ignore it. It's not like people from nationalities other than Japanese are just now figuring out how to equip arrows.

I have found is get the respect of the players you want to play with and you will be allowed to play with them. If you show them you are able to use the auto translator well, usually they let you play with them.

Its funny when i see post like this. People really like to use the race card more then understanding the logic of reversing the role. In a NA group if your trying to speak to a JP person you guys get so frustrated because they lack the conjuctions that link there words. If people would learn to grow up more and be more versitial and most importantly patient with the others "JP only" comments would be a thing of the past. Japanese parties are pretty fun for me the most part, one of the most positive part of being in them is i do not have to mainstream my job as all NA players "say" it should be played and what sub to use with it. Not to mention the gear comments. Most of use have been in the party where someone had gimped gear or you may had gimped gear for a level or two, tho i may be speaking pre-abyssea the point still remains, NA players are more then often the first to tell you about your gear. Not all NA players are this way and not all JP players are this way, but a lot of them are and is why certain things excluded from us.

i play regularly with JP Players, i dont speak one word JP at all but i never got kicked or asked to leave. So dont say that about all the JP, there are some Black sheeps. And black sheeps existing in every country ^^

Ive played with Japanese, Chinese and European players since shortly after FFXI was released and now into FFXIV. Never had a problem. Jdcho99 is right if you suck it doesnt matter what language you speak...and if they did just kick you for being NA so be it. Its there choice.

jp onry only becomes a problem when the jp population of a server becomes too high and they get lazy but this is not just a jp onry problem NA also do this just less visible we don't put it in shout we just wont accept you if you don't fit criteria
