Catnip, that's one reason why I don't play XI and XIV right now cuz my internet tended to drop my connection (at that time). Though now my ISP upped our internet bandwidth so I want to test it out, even though it still drops but mostly at night time.
my ISP used to run fine but lately it seems like the hired on a bunch of HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE monkeys to run everything, my connection is unstable, the internet just drops out for no damn reason sometimes... and the customer service is something of a myth. (I have had a few good people come out though...)
Most ISPs will replace your router and modem free, if not cheap. If that doesn't work then threaten to change ISPs and they'll get ***done.
Unless it's Time Warner, then they don't give a ***.

Roadrunner = Time Warner. Just a different name for the company depending on region. I ended up getting so enraged and sick of them that I went to their building near where I live, shoved a 20 dollar bill in the receptionist's face, and threw the router over their desk. Then I switched to UVerse.

I would love to get something else, but my grandparents seem to think it's just me .. or they don['t think I need internet or something. I may look into that, when my grandparents get home i'm just going to tell them outright the internet died again (for like 3 hours ... I'll like to make it sound convincing :p)

I'd say switch to AT&T. Their customer service is decent and U-verse is good. Only reason why we switched from them was cuz our internet was going out alot due to old wiring and they still haven't fixed it. Now we're on Wide Open West.

Cable, Cellphones, and Internet are all great for me from them... though I have the virtue of the fiber optics they laid down being just a couple of months old. Not a week after we cancelled, we had someone at our door and people calling me trying to find out what happened. After we told them about the bill going up every month, even after cancelling services, and that the retention team did nothing to help us lower the bill, they were appalled. They have offered me all kinds of different things at next to nothing prices. The problem is, as soon as I switch back, I know they will just start raising the prices again and its just not worth it to me. is it just me or does ffxiah keep having server problems? Elspetta, thats how comcast makes money. Same ***happened with us years ago. I hate comcast with a passion still.
Catnip, Yes it's always been *** up for the last few months. Comcast is messed up... tried to charge me for a couple of months after I cancelled their service...
Comcast gets away with so much ***.

A few months ago, a guy from the phone company was setting up a line for a house across the street, god knows what he did... but he connected my line to their house. I was on the internet at the time when it cut out, I checked the phone line and it was dead so I went out to talk to the guy... who still had his ladders up against the pole and he wouldn't do anything to fix it because he didn't a work order for it. I had to call the phone company and it took them a week to come out to fix it, meanwhile the lass across the street kept getting all my phonecalls and had full use of my internet lol. ....
