IDK if it works or not arte, but IMO the 250gb HDD is worth it. But I also have games DL'd onto it from XBL market.
I'll probably use my thumb drive for transfering my gamertag and saved games to a friend's house when the time comes. But yeah, for downloading XBL titles, it's probably well worth having the HD.
For now I'm trying to contemplate whether the Kinect is worth getting or not. I found a good deal for their 250 GB "Holiday" bundle which includes Halo Reach and Fable 3 (lawl) for $250.
Otherwise I can get the kinect package for $100 more but silly kinect games included instead of Halo and Fable :<

I personally love Halo Reach's campaign and Fable 3 so I'd say go for it.
IMO they're two great stories.
Halo's story is good also you can go extra nerd and start reading the books. (Such a greeat series)

I'll have to wait til a decent third party developer makes a practical use for the Kinect. But for now I don't think Gunslinger, Kinectimals or voice commands is enough to warrant the extra $100.

As nifty as voice commands are, I still don't think that warrants the $100 for a Kinect. For an expensive piece of hardware, it needs to go beyond novelty and minor convenience in one triple-A game.
And as far as actual Kinect titles go, they're either broken, dance games, or child oriented ~_~
