Does FFVI's story pick up after these three beginning scenarios? Not gonna lie, right now it's not really appealing to me. I'm gonna finish it regardless, just waiting for the story to really pick up.
I was gonna complain about getting skyrim for the 360 instead of PS3 but you know what... I'm ok with it.

yes, it does, and if its not drastically different from snes/ps version, then theres one scene that might have you in tears fairly early on depending on how emotional you get at games

Mmmkay. Doubt it'll make me cry as sprite games just don't have that impact on me. I've already run into some sad stuff but I'd need to see a cutscene of some sort to really catch the emotion.

As to the story, I don't really see much to write home about, either. Compared to the others again, it felt lackluster and sorta compiled together hastily. I think the reason people love it so much is the nostalgia factor. That's the only reason I can see going for this game.
That being said, people are gonna hate up ons, but I say bring it, muchachos!
I have more fun with any FF that has a job system. VI was alright (haven't actually beaten it yet, too focused on getting all of Gau's moves).

i didnt really play ffvi until a few years ago, after 7,8,9,10,10-2,11,12. i still think its one of the best in the series. it and 8 are my top 2

I just got Gau. I do like the change in this game, how it's actually grown people rather than a bunch of preteens that are somehow weapon masters when the only weapon they've used is a broomstick, lol. That may be an appeal to others.
Another small complaint - this game as a whole is depressing to look at. The colors are all so bland. I don't want something like Sonic Colors or something but it feels as if everything is just rotting. It makes me sleepy x_x

Plus right now, you'd be stuck on the Veldt, which is a pretty bland area anyway.

Cause I have physical money I don't really want to go and put in the bank, then have to wait for it to get in there, then order it from amazon, then wait for it to get shipped to my house.

Though at times, characters leave your party and do other *** (hi2u Shadow).
6 is probably my second favourite (offline) FF, after 9.
I really liked the Esper system and how you had to actually plan ahead on which Esper to give to people in order to determine their stat growth and role in the party.
I also liked the story, and the majority of the characters (Locke and Celes in particular, although Shadow's backstory makes him a close 3rd favourite). The optional characters felt pretty pointless though, considering they got 0 backstory, but I found Gogo to be a nice throwback to FF5 at least.

I'll continue Sabin's story later. The encounter rate in this game is such a turn off, lol. It's like freakin' Pokemon.
