I thought it felt rushed. They could have spent more time explaining that troupe with Forest Whitaker. I had no idea what they were doing in the film. Maybe it's just me not enjoying how most movies are done, nowadays. I honestly could have used more exposition and character development, but when I left the theater, I overheard a group of guys saying "The first part was boring, but then it got good." I was thinking that I could've used a lot more of the boring part. Still, not bad. Better than Episode 1, that's for sure.
I really wanted to see more from those two temple guardian guys. They were awesome and so well developed.
I am no SW-fangrrl, but to my understanding, the chara of Saw Gerrera was originally introduced in the Cartoon Network animated series SW series "Clone Wars", so canonically-speaking his presence is a nod to that side-story. In fact, I believe he is the first-ever character brought into the main/cinematic storyline from one of the various animated Lucasfilm works (as opposed to the "expanded universe" characters featured in previous films.)
In terms of the actual story, though, I believe his role is to establish that there are/were various factions of Rebels, not all of which were diplomatic types but also insurgent/military types, as well. This point, I think, was further underscored later when the various Rebel leaders decided (albeit belatedly) to act together militarily--forming an actual "Rebel Alliance" as such, and making the efforts/decisions of the main characters that much more meaningful in the scope of SW "history" as a result.
And, of course, his cell's role was to provide cannon-fodder ground-pounders and disposable heroes for the "Where Eagles Dare" infiltration/combat-scenario. :p
See, I haven't seen any of those series, so I guess I'm a little lost. I've heard there were other easter eggs in the film that had to do with those series, but again, I'm lost. I suppose if I want to really get engrossed in the story, I should catch up on the various animated series.
Ok. gonna watch dbza start to current and while consuming this rye. have a smoke and play ffxiv missions and maybe LoL.
at my parents people wanted to watch, "a christmas story". i don't think that movie is very good. dbza brings me more warm and fuzzies. plus it's been posted so much in rt lately.
End of disc 1 was brutal, now to see if your disc 4 works. Since they came in an envelope, there was a mass number of LO that the forth disc was bad. When the game was super cheap I would go to different Game stops just to see if they had one that was in mint condition, if it wasn't then I wouldn't pick it up.
i never finished it but when i read the reviews the downtime loading and fps issues downgraded the game all reviews gives the story A + My uncle bought the full retail price the disk looks good too don't say that now T.T

I saw this today with my brothers. It was alright. Entertained me, and I let it off easy I guess. My main beefs with it were the lack of character development, along with an incredibly spiky pace. Character motivations as well. Like when Jyn Erso(it's a play on Jain Orso from the EU) was getting rescued by the Rebels. She beat them up for no reason whatsoever. Discount Kyle Katarn(Cassian Andro or whatever his name is) came off as all shady, does the dirty work etc. from his introduction, but he quickly retracted into heart of gold/not really a bad guy, guy. Tarkin nuked his own base for no reason.
Felt like there was a lot of backstory that we weren't getting 100% of, like the relation of Mads Mikkelson to that imperial douche canoe. The bad *** black fellow who had robot legs and such didn't get enough screen time/they gave us no visuals into how awesome he is, and why exactly, the rebels need his help.
Honestly it was a good thing the action picked up and didn't stop really, because characterization and plot were actually very weak.
Also, I get why they killed all of the, "new," characters at the end, but honestly, they didn't have to really. The galaxy is a big place, and there's plenty they could have come up with for them to do in new EU content, but whatever. It was a good action flick.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
