There's an item in WoW called Light of Elune that is a one time only quest item that was only available in early WoW, which gives you 10 seconds of pure immunity. It's every raiders dream to use their 1 use on a progression boss as the last man standing to save the day. I've never had it happen, sits in the bank :(.

You would have to be pretty dumb to pay duty on a physical check though.
Any time you win money from something like that any fees and taxes come out of the sum you would be receiving.
If you fall for something like that, well... natural selection and all that.

The amount taken off the winnings is done for residents of that country/state, while a duty fee is tacked on to winners from outside that country, in order to release said package.
