Best Writing wasn't a category. If it was, Undertale would have won that for sure. But I don't feel it deserved even the top 3 of the 5 nominees for best Indie game. The other options were Axiom Verge, Her Story, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Rocket League.

That said, yeah I would have put Ori, Her Story, and Axiom Verge ahead of it personally. There were just too many good games this year. I was almost afraid even that The Witcher III wouldn't win Game of the Year.
