I'm hardcore, no windower, and only /map as my macro (every macro alt 1 has to be map or I can't function) and sa and ta separate macros. The rest I do by hand, lol.
Usually Alt-W or Alt-J then select from menu.

Not sure how I would feel about the game without third-party stuff. I did play on ps2 for a few years when I first started playing in 04 or 05 or some crap, but then switched and haven't missed it.

No shame in playing vanilla or w/e if that's how you like to play so long as you realize it's less efficient (which clearly you do)
More power to ya. I had my stuff set up where I could just pick everything from the menu and have it be automated but did have macros for random/often used crap

I'm mostly just excited they released the ergon weapons so now I can finally be the best melee GEO ever
I don't mind it for now. But yeah I never had thf past 39 so I'm really starting from scratch. I may have some of my whm stuff somewhere but kinda useless now.
Yeah, if I didn't have my characters and my gear wasn't somewhat up-to-date I wouldn't have bothered reactivating.
The journey of leveling used to be the main fun of this game for me but now events etc. I just got bored of doing dynamis/salvage etc everyday but now I actually have stuff that's not a grind to catch-up on that will be new and exciting or something.

Yeah don't need windower to afk in abyssea.
I did everything Vanilla in XI. Ain't bother me none, nor any of the people I ever played with. Super *** annoying though, having to hit 2 or 3 macros to do a full swap for each set, but meh, once you get the muscle memory for it, it's not hard or strenuous.
