Dunno h ow you guys can do it, after 32 ours of being awake my body forces me to sleep with body pains and one time made me think I was vomiting.

I successfully avoided the Facebook fight that could have ensued when my mom-in-law stated that the morning-after pill was abortion and shouldn't be available over-the-counter.

I successfully avoided the Facebook fight that could have ensued when my mom-in-law stated that she was glad I got a couch because now when she comes to visit she gets her own personal chair.

I successfully avoided the Facebook fight that could have ensued when my mom-in-law stated that today's cartoons don't count as cartoons because gosh darn those changing times.

But when my little sister-in-law said she didn't want to wear makeup, and I told her that it was her face and no one else could tell her what to do with it, and then my mom-in-law piped up and said that putting on makeup was required to look nice and if you want proof then look at people of walmart... FIGHT!

My poor sis-in-law. She's only in high school, and all she wants to do is play video games and hockey and soccer and run amock and climb trees. And all my mom-in-law wants her to do is comb her hair and take dance classes. It's her life, dadblastit! Let her live it!

Now I will agree....these new cartoons do suck terrible *** and I don't consider them cartoons...

They aren't as good as Looney Tunes, for sure. But just because I prefer one over the other doesn't mean that either of them don't count or aren't art. So when we told her that we turned on Saturday morning TV and it was playing Dragonball Z and she was all "NOPE DOESN'T COUNT BECAUSE I SAY SO" I just logged off Facebook. xD Some things just aren't worth arguing over with family, and that's definitely one of them.

Make up is gross anyways.

Agreed! Tho I consider anime a step up from what is on today, not as good as what we and her had growing up tho.

No offense, but I want to punch your mother-in-law in the face.

Seriously, a woman who can enjoy herself without make-up (and therefore doesn't feel the need to bother herself with it all of the time) is far more attractive to me than someone who chooses to wear it every day because society will look down on them otherwise.

She's not fat, but she's not scrawny either. She just gets uppity when she comes to visit and has to sit in a computer chair. On one hand, I can understand, because after driving for several hours to get here she's sore from the car, and she has back problems. But on the other hand, you can't go around ordering people to have furniture specially for you when you visit a whopping twice a year, tops. >.> Mothers!


I haven't watched enough cartoons to know what's Nickelodeon and what's not. /blush! We recently got a Looney Tunes collection, and I've been watching through them for the first time. I really like Bugs Bunny and Tweety Bird! On TV, I've seen a bit of Spongebob and I positively hated it, his laugh is like a cheese grater grating on my very last nerve and he's so dumb I just can't. I've never seen Dora the Explorer. We watched an episode of Dragonball Z and an episode of Sonic the Hedgehog, and they were both ok, but had trouble holding my interest. I'd rather look at dog gifs on the internet. xD

If you enjoy makeup as a form of decoration, good for you.

But if you need makeup to look pretty, then maybe it's cause you have something to cover.

Not everyone finds the same things pretty :O That's exactly what make up is for tho, cover up flaws and highlight the good.

In daily life/school i don't see why anyone would give a ***, but in some jobs as a female you're pretty much required to know how to apply make-up properly, so in that i get the mom's point i guess <.< iunno

I'll agree that it's probably a good skill to have. I won't agree with the way she attempted to portray it to the child. She made it seem more like wearing make-up is a necessity when it's honestly not.

Though... even saying all this... I'll admit I'm a sucker for a girl who can rock lipstick. >.>;

I didn't intend to make a case that nobody should use makeup. Go ahead if you feel comfortable with it, or enjoy it. I do use moderate amounts sometimes just for fun.
However, if you(generic, in that case the mother) tell someone that everyone needs it, then maybe you don't like your face enough.
