This is true and I can understand this frustration but technically speaking the way things are set up now is supposed to be beneficial to these types of players. These delve weapons and this new model of weapon progression that was installed was done so I believe (granted it is SE so who knows for sure) so that people that don't possess the insane log in time that some of the upper class players have can still advance while only doing a fraction of the work the hardcore players do. It doesn't take months/years to get/rank a delve weapon. So technically these types of players shouldn't be complaining but they generally are anyway. The reason they do so is most of the time (of course not always) because they no longer feel special or privileged over others. They like that false sense of superiority that the R/E weapon gave them over non R/E users. Its why you saw those HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE threads about "SE needing to upgrade lvl 85 and 90 emps). I used to see these types of people all the time on Siren, you're lucky if you don't seem em in fenrir.

I think that was part of the problem - people who in 2009 would never ever ever consider a relic actually attainable found out in 2011 that "I can do this - it's gonna be rough, but I can do it!" But by the time they actually finished, it was "too late."

It's got to be way tough to try to cater to as many people as they can, and to be honest, I think SE does alright with this. Is it even possible to make something enjoyable for both the person that takes 1 week to do something and the person that takes 1 year to do the same?

And they way "it is now," is fine, too - just the switch from "this weapon you've used for years" to "this weapon you're using this month" was kind of rough. (If it even is that way - can't guess what's coming/going in the near future.)

As far as being a step behind people - I said it was frustrating, but that's not all it is. I'm also very happy - I'm doing new things, improving my character, and having fun. As long as I focus on myself, there's no problem at all. But every so often, some jerk in a Ferrari pulls up next to my Sentra at a stop light... rrrrr...

It is very sad that the forum community is more entertaining / active than the actual game.
It's not as entertaining as KI/BG were back in the days, though.

I really miss this 2006-2008 forum era. Everyone would make fun of Alla, boomerang penises would be posted and so on.

I haven't used sam since rr atma came out, so yes! Gimie my damn gil back

Funny that you say this, I'm in the process of getting rid of the Mandau I had worked on. I was in my final stage currency wise, I hadn't traded anything in yet, when the whole R/M/E issue exploded.

I looked at doing annihilator, aegis, or gjallarhorn as an effective replacement, but then considering the jobs I'm on most and se's original plan, just said screw it. Mandau was meant to be my thf's toy.

So now my thf gets gil for whatever's next down the pike.

Man, I'm glad my RME is still useful.

That being said-- gil is useless today. What would you possibly spend it on? Other than Behemoth pops and daily meds/food, of course.

Um... Airlixirs to upgrade Delve armor/weapons? You're talking ~10-12 mil worth of airlixir to get one Rank 15, and a lot of people will have multiple armor sets/weapons to upgrade. You're probably not farming all those Airlixir drops yourself.

Maybe those items will also become obsolete (heck, the Delve mega-boss weapons already trump the NQ Delve weapons), but at least they're currently top tier. As opposed to R/E/M being clearly inferior today with vague promises that maybe your 99s will be upgradable. I'd rather dump my cash into something that's at least currently useful rather than hope my outdated REM gets a reasonable upgrade path some day.

Some jobs also do still have big ticket buyable items available too: Senbaak, Arise, etc.

The sentiments here weren't exactly what I expected!

I'd trade back my Mandau and Ragnarok if not doing so means they're just going to collect dust. I don't see the point in keeping them if they're destined to be crap.

And there's still plenty that one could blow gil on. I'd work on Defending Ring more (0/14 so far...), fund a Harp99 and Ghorn99 for my mule, quickly rank15 new gear, buy new crafted weapons, level up crafts, etc. Saying that gil isn't useful anymore seems short-sighted. It's just that gil is now primarily for luxuries whereas before it was required to meet baseline expectations.

Yeah, gil is only useless for that fraction of the playerbase that consistently clears Tojil to farm a gajillion plasm every run so they can max out their Delve gear really fast. So basically either JPs or like 2-3 linkshells per server. Somebody's buying those Airlixirs from you and it probably isn't other Tojil clearers.

No one is buying Airlixirs from Solanis, she has over a million plasm because she never uses it!

I bought a bunch of Airlixir+2 a while back because I was impatient and wanted upgrades NOW instead of tomorrow '-';

I wouldn't trade a R/M/E back at all.

I worked for it and i worked hard for it and i'm not going to throw away hard work like that.

The Empys i have weren't put together in 45 minutes by some "loleasyaby" ls.
So even my empys mean work for me.

I too made my Empyrean back when you actually needed parties to beat those guys, I marched both ways in the snow etc.

But yeah, I wouldn't trade back my RMEs back either, but then the ones I made were for loljobs anyway so it's not like I can't still use them if I want to (And RME99 katana are still the best anyway, because I doubt people are wasting Bztavian Wings on Pamuns >_>)

There are so many kills on bee that the wing is the common mat. Belts/ingots/whatever are much harder to come by really, considering that you can fight the bee as much as you want for a 100% drop.

oh wow i dont come to these forums for a while and people are still bitching about wasting time and money on relics. really if you are pissed tell SE about it and give up this useless discussion on these forums. This is borderline full retard here.

delve weapons are here to stay, SE probably wont put money into really fixing the problem so deal with it or give me all your stuff when you quit. also I am not giving it back when you come back and try to get your characters restored.
