why would you compare a pixel item to a child...
You don't have a relic, do you.

Would you trade your relic weapon back?
I know for certain I would never give up or throw away my Ragnarok, or my Caladbolg. Caladbolg was my first major endgame weapon, and I managed to finish Ragnarok some weeks before Resolution was announced. Admittedly, both weapons were a bit trying to make, but ultimately fun to use.
Honestly though, some people without relics will never know how fun and awesome they can be, and others with them, will tend to over-exaggerate them. With that said, please don't be a Herp Derpington about it or post some irrelevant *** when you don't have a relic, or compare it to having and raising a child if you do have one. Getting that shiny weapon you've wanted for so long and now you can attain it within a reasonable pace? I wish I still played, because I wanted Mjollnir and boyfriend wanted to level BRD and get Ghorn. XD But, that's passed. I think if they did say they were bringing back REM you'd see a lot more people playing than now. They already did say they're bringing back REM, people just can't stand them not being #1 for this time period.

Lol, actually, last I heard it was a toss up in the air on REM future, so I guess people are misinformed? That's what I read too, I would believe thorny if the devs didn't say it was a toss-up between "lateral progression" of REM vs Vertical Progression of everything else over REM
People have a good reason to be worried about their REMs being outdated for a long time/forever. Anyone remember Atomos and Cait Sith avatars? How about how it took YEARS to get something as simple as accessing storage from anywhere? Did SE say they would buff REMs? Yeah they did, but with their track record it will be implemented September of 2017.

I never saw anything that contradicted this later, though I haven't really kept up since I'm not one of the RME crybabies. I understand they said they will be updating them based on Matsui's post, maybe I should have been more clear. I do not believe they will be updated to be worthwhile to have over delve "equivalents". Ok, so they give us some stupid upgrade to boost, but they won't be on top like they are suppose to be based on Camate's post.
In other words, take Ragnarok for example. Reading between both posts, I think its "upgrade" will put it somewhere between a Bereaver and a Senbaak. Then they lived up to their word of upgrading, but still not the best. Anyone who wants R/M/E to be relevant again should want SE to hold off on updating it until the major content has been released. If they were to release the weapons now, the best they could do is give them an item level of 125 or 130. Anything higher than that they would be entirely too powerful for this stage of the game.
SE has mentioned that they only plan to update R/M/E weapons once, probably because it takes them weeks to do the testing and tweaking when making adjustments to those weapons. The longer they put it off the higher they can set the item level for those weapons. So I just say be patient and wait until the moment is right so they aren't released too early and get left behind anyways. I have a 95 Masamune, does it kinda suck its not useful, sure it does. Would i exchange it for my HMP's back, hell no. It was an accomplishment and as a casual player it took me a number of months too get it to 95 and i am glad i did. Enjoy the ride not where you end up.

SE is going to wait until after the majority of Delve is released and subsequently beaten. They are now basing their approach on how fast we're beating things, instead of a hard schedule. Once delve is finished and they are creating the "next best thing", they'll reintroduce RME's as more powerful weapons. This is very likely what they are doing anyway and given the snail's pace in which they deliver content I don't necessarily think this is such a smart idea. All this will do is encourage people to subscribe only when the content cycle has finished and their R/M/E are relevant again. They will play a few weeks to cap out on gear and then unsubscribe for months again (when the new content shits on their weapon again) as they wait on their R/M/E becoming relevant again resulting in the sub 1k populations (during non jp primetime) most of the servers are experiencing now. That idea only works if content cycles didn't take months (if not years in some cases for SE). I've said a few times in LS and party chat that it makes more sense to wait 'til all the Naakual and Fracture Boss equipment has been added to do their upgrades. It's also kind of what I envisioned as well, though many people were jumping the gun when SE posted a development picture of the relic, empyrean, and mythic swords, somewhat complaining that they were ultimately no better than the current Fracture boss weapons. Seriously, it was a development hint at what they were looking at, and what they would be like, if they released them at that time. |
