Even if relics are'nt the best weapons around, I bet for most people they did their job damn well over the past few years >_>

As a relic owner myself, that ONLY upgraded due to the fact that SE said that they would not be outdone by future weapons, can say that I was disappointed when better weapons were in fact introduced.

I swore for a long time that I would not waste the time necessary to obtain a relic, and tried getting a P. Harpe in an effort to have the "2nd best" dagger damage wise at the time (went 0/76 I might add). When I thought it through, my decision was clear that I'd rather upgrade something that was stated to ALWAYS be the best.

All of this being said, I still have some form of hope that the game will be once more removed from the Abyssea world that it has become and my dagger will be as good or better than it's counterparts, but overall I'm still very happy with my golden butter knife. On a further note - I will own a Twashtar as well, simply because I've really gotten to the point that I need another goal in game to keep it fun for me to play.

And no... I would not trade my dagger back for anything. It's still fun having people let me know that a THF can't do damage, and letting my ability to play the job with the proper equipment show them otherwise.

No no and no. What else what you spend the gil on if you could rewind? Also a lot of people still using 99 Koga/Amano so you cant say there useless now. Never where & never will be. Plenty of 99 REM are still used widely. If its not 99 then of course it will Easily be trumped.
As for absyea: it wasn't a place for sam rdm or pld to shine. It was where mnk war & nin ruled. Sam use to be the ***pre Aby then it fell off. SoA release: Sam back in business! 99 your ***and step up your game.

I hate to say it but I think Relics are the best looking weapons IMHO. I love my Guttler very much, I just wish the aftermath was longer. I really can't wait for these weapons to become relevant again. The possibilities!

Annihilator is still a damn good gun with 3x dmg proc and Coronach WS.

I agree with you entirely, I love my Guttler. But sadly, it's gotten to the point now where I can't really afford much faith that SE will make REM worthwhile again. My Guttler and Ragnarok are sitting in my storage, gone the way of the Dodo and lolFarsha. At the present point in time, if I could trade my Guttler in for an Aegis, I would in a heartbeat. At least Aegis is still useful...

My Apocalypse got a ton of use out of it, and Ragnarok always used to be my fav-looking relic, so I'm very happy to have both of them, even if I'll never use them again :P
I do think the way they SUDDENLY got irrelevant(and by such a huge margin, in most cases >_>) was stupid, but I'm not really shocked that they eventually got surpassed.

Well I continued to buy new games all the time and never/rarely play most of them to date. Essentially it helped me "waste" more money till I catch up on my huge backlog
