And on this topic, why is it that whenever I'm running like a little girl away from something, it always can run faster than me? Even though most mobs are supposed to run the same speed as players.

I don't have this problem even without my mov+ equip. I actually find it much easier to out run mobs in 2010/2011 as compared to back in 2004-2007 especially lower levels it really feels like they changed something to make it easier

I'm speaking from experience as of about five days ago. I was LV5ish MNK punching some Crawler way out of my league, and I decided it wasn't worth dying for to retain my pride, so I hightailed it out of there, and even using the pathing to my advantage, it was right on me the whole time.

Maybe I just have bad luck.

In a spinoff world where Tetra Master went over HUGE, they were going to be used kinda like the game tables are nowadays, instead of dice you play ffxi pokers, and win cool tetra cards for winning the game.

The Cactuar needles, well, those are for removing the splinters from those tables.

What's the difference between a lexicon and a vocabulary? /troll

Think of it like all monsters are out there on your server but you connect to server and lag. So anytime it does something you take a second to react. the mob running right in front of you is actually like 8 yalms away lol if you just run beside a mob you eventually hit it, which looks dumb but works
Pretty much this. Due to server lag and all that jazz, when a mob is moving, it's actually about half a second ahead of where it appears to be. So when it's chasing you, and seems to be 10 yalms behind you, it's actually 5 yalms behind you and is in melee range. When you're chasing a mob trying to hit it, and you seem to be 2 yalms behind it, you're actually 7 yalms behind it and just out of melee range. If it's chasing someone else who has hate on it, running just in front of the mob in the same direction will let you melee it normally.

It's from a game you never heard of, yes. But that's where the term originated from... and they've used it in MMOs etc since. I don't know how that's hard to believe, lol. Here--Read this.
Proc stands for Programed Random Occurance. It's a programing term. And it does not apply to triggering weaknesses on abyssea NMs. When someone says, "Proc blue !!" etc, that is not the correct way to use it.

Do bar-elemental spells stack with bar-status spells? like barblizzara stacking with barparalyze? I would always just cast both just to be sure. Also does Blessed Briault stack with AF2 pants? I hear it does and I hear it doesn't. I've never really got around to testing it =/
What do they have to do with each other? They do completely different things. AF2 pants add straight 20 point boost to bar spells. Briault adds a 5% MDB.

when the weaknesses were first introduced and the phrase/terminology started being used no one understood how to trigger the weaknesses so it made sense at the time. gg though, people will still say proc :P

Why don't I get the !! animation on my screen when someone proc's? It shows up in chat log but thats tough to see sometimes in the spam. I have turned off all my filters and that still does nothing.

It happens very fast. Also, it's probably because the mob is too big to see it (it occurs at the top of the mob) or someone gearswapped while they proc'd it (wouldn't show up if they gearswapped mid trigger animation)

Here is my stupid question, as I´ve recently started with my first upfront melee job, as opposed to ranged attack josb I wanted to know this;

I know gear haste caps at 25(26 according to some)%, but what is the different between magic haste and gear haste? Does magic haste only effect spell recast timers, or actual weapon delay?

Your terms are mixed up.

*Delay = The time between melee attacks. TP gained per hit is based of of this

*Gear haste (25% cap) = Increases overall attack speed and /ma recast timers. with no penalty to TP.

*Magic Haste ( ~43.75% (448/1024) cap) = Same as Gear Haste. You're rarely going to hit this. It's usually 2x March, or SV + Haste.
IE; Haste,Refueling, Hastega & Songs.

*Job Ability Haste (25% Cap) = Only increases attack speed. Does nothing for recast timers.
IE; Haste Samba & Hasso.

*Dual Wield = LOWERS delay reducing TP per hit for greater attack speed.
IE; Gear and Job traits.

All of these taken into account will bring you to an OVERALL cap of 80% reduction in attack speed. If you're asking the difference now, it makes no difference to you. When it will be something you'll worry about. You'll know what to do. Just try to reach your 26% (It's not "to some" it's always 26% unless you have a blackbelt, I don't believe any other piece of gear rounds out to the proper %Haste without rounding) gear haste as close as possible. It's a lot easier now since there's no real arguments of sacrificing stats for haste inside of abyssea.

Okies so in Abyssea:

Norm Atmas for me are GH, RR, and either a HP Superior or AoA.

With the above, is Evasion on gear a waste due to AGI being through the roof?

Specifically: Antares Harness, Boxers Mantle and Evasion Torque.

Open up your Windower folder, and looks for the Scripts folder. In the Scripts folder, you'll see a text file called init.txt. Open it.

Look for the section where you see this:

load TParty
load Distance
load Recast
//load LightLuggage
//load TimeStamp
load DrawDistance
load SSOrganizer
load ConsoleBG
//load Logger
//load StatusTimer
load Silence
//load ExpWatch
//load ChatMon
load Tickle
load YarnBall
load Cancel

If you don't want a particular plugin to automatically load, just put a // in front of its name.

Depends on what you're fighting, situational ***is situational. If you're getting hit in your full haste/tp build, throw on some extra eva. If not, go to town in what you're wearing.
