Also.. The sewer thing.. The tidal wave moved both ways, if it went over him first.. It healed him IIRC, if it went over you first, it damaged him.
Hmm, nope. US versions he always hurt himself whichever way it went. It would deal more to him when it came from behind him, and more to the battlers when it came from behind them.

Ah. Maybe they are different then, because it defiantly heals him on mine. (I played it only a short time ago)
Yes. ~~~ Got FF7 to work with patches and stuff but now I don't have music, only sound effects. /cry
With the remixer patch?
Yuss.
Somehow music is playing now, but when a battle ends, the music pauses for a long time and the victory fanfare only starts if I obtain items from the battle. :<
And I'm trying to figure out if "Bombing Mission" was supposed to be what was playing during the Guard Scorpion fight.
Ok what I need you to do is go into the start menu find the FF7 folder and select 'FF7 Music Configuration'.
Next, select the 'configure' button, then select the 'files' tab. Make sure that the profile is set to 'custom'. If that fails to work, try the two 'MP3(remixed)' option and if that doesn't work try the 'MP3' option umkay.
mp3(remix) seems to work, but I won't know til I get into a fight. Also, why did they only do new models for Cloud and Barret? I'm in the well scene and Tifa looks lulzy compared to Cloud. lol Edit: Victory Fanfare still doesn't start up at the end of a fight. Small matter compared to epic battle music now. :P
Oh? All the main characters should be remodeled o_O

I find it funny how much better a game can be and look when u let the user base add to it. most if not all the companys now have jumped on the bandwagon of no we wont let u mod are game to make it better or more fun.We will put bot programs that only us and the host of the game can see.Black ops is what i am using in my mind when i say this.companys need to do like what bungie did when halo ce came out people began modding it like everyone dose with new games but what the user base did was bring an expansion pack that bungie said ya u can use we will let u mod are game to make it better. This was done by users. This is what i do not understand why do comapnys not understand that some users on the internet may be better programmers then they are and be able to take there game to places that there team did not.
for the people who mod ff7 i do not like modders but i think modding the look should be ok but modding an online game so u know your going to win should be reportable.
i just want to say who ever updated the game play in that video did a great job btw.
<.<; So do these mods still work with the recent re-rerelease that came out not too long ago?
I have the new version and the old version installed, I'd attempt to see how both handle them but 1. I don't have an activation for the latter and I don't want to mess up my install on the former.
DLPB and his friends over at forums.qhimm.com are getting so much new traffic and questions haha. Most of that stuff is probably never going to work with the new rape-release of ff7 as it is.
I read they are building a mod that simply transforms that re-release into the original pcff7 version, which is far superior really, since it can use Aali's driver. That will basically allow people to legally and cheaply purchase the game and then mod it, which hasn't been possible up to now due to the legit version of the game being rare and expensive.
Personally I say skip the rerelease, rip that iso (which is everywhere) and enjoy.
I think I installed all the custom driver stuff, Aaki's (or something) and the 1.02 patch plus the remix thing I think are all done to the instructions.
I did change the Disc drive path in the Regedit!
But not the movie path, what is this suppose to be changed to?

sorry, the first letter to the same as the disc path, I'm going to fiddle with mine later to see if I can dump the movies (as I thought they were using the full install) to the hdd, then I'll change it to that, but for now it's the disc drive letter:\FF7\movies or something like that...
I feel obliged to share this with my fellow Final Fantasy fanatics! I recently had the urge to play through FF7 and FF8 again for pc and decided to search any enhanced graphics mods and what I found...
MIND.
BLOWN.
FFVII
There is what is called a "remixer" available for FF7 which you simply download and install onto your FF7 (assuming you already have FF7 installed on your system and it has to be the normal version not Ultima edition kays). It allows you to put the game resolution to anything you like, has a complete graphical overhaul, complete character model overhaul, majority of NPCs have been remodeled, majority of the world map has been remodeled, a selection of new animations for spells/abilities... but my favourite part is it contains not only the higher quality playstation MP3 instead of the crappy pc midi files, but the majority of the OST has been replaced with tracks from OCremix.org and the Black Mages!!!
So for all of you that like me are holding out on a remake some day, this might just be good enough for you. Simply dl the remixer from this link (contains all technical details and info on remixer) and install it (remember you need FF7 on your system first). It's a large file so I suggest overnight dl.
FFVIII
Ok unfortunately there is not an equivalent remixer for FF8 but there is a launcher program which allows you to alter resolution up to a ridiculous setting making the game look absolutely beautiful and also fixes the 8 bit pallete textures problem that causes so many issues with modern gfx. I have also managed to replace some of the music with tracks from the orchestral album Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec ^^. Now there are a few different sources for the launcher some of which I would be wary of so if anyone is interested in FF8 add me on msn or drop me a pm.
Ok so here is a link to the launcher, just dl and unpack it into your FF8 directory, then click on launcher.exe instead of the original FF8.exe (you will need winrar or winzip etc to unpack the dl). If you don't feel comfortable dl it pm me your email and I can send you my dl. http://rapidshare.com/#!download|161l32|78672746|ff8_launcher_v1.1.rar|25
If you want to go a step further and replace the music with the wonderful orchestral tracks go to this website http://ffsf.aaron-kelley.net/download_8.html and dl the Samuel Slight FFVIII DLS v1.39/ Unpack and transfer all the files into Your FF8 directory\data\music\dmusic and select yes to all when asked if you want to replace any existing files. That should be you ready to roll^^
(sorry pics are not great I didn't have a lot of time):
Remember this is PC version only guys, I downloaded the .iso files and used Daemon Tools to mount the game on a virtual drive. Here are the links to the torrent downloads (Use at your own risk but they have been 100% working and clean for me).
I've taken out the torrent links to stop the thread going under, but if you want to know where I got them from, I can't tell you >_> coughisocough because coughhuntcough anyway. PM me if you want specifics, just be careful and always check the user comments first on torrents.
Final Edit: I'm running Windows XP, my friend has successfully run these on Vista, Windows 7 on the other hand has known compatibility issues with FF7 in particular although it should still work with the remixer. Good luck, any issues pm me.
UPDATE AUGUST 2012: Some of the links provided in this post are now dead, so you might have to google your way to success.
