The fact that Starr made a statement directly related to the thread, albeit a disagreement, and later expressed that it would be interesting if they had the time to join (being on the server and all, it could happen). Then the OP was slightly upset at being referred to as "bro" which as most people know is used on the internet as a term implying informality, and not really indicative of gender (personally it always throws me off when people call me "dude" cause I'm like.... not a dude... so I can understand it but the term does mean something, or at least is used as something, in the realm of the internet that is different than the real world definition).

One more back and forth in which Starr actually said "cool story bro" in response to the issue with being called "bro" which you SHOULD know (if you've spent any time on any forum) is not a statement so much as referring to a meme. OP didn't get it quite tho and said it was "trolling."

Starr responded with an entirely overblown response that on the surface may even have seemed exclusively provocative, but that wasn't even the one you took offense to oddly enough. But if you take the time to look you'd see that it was just a way to show that there was no ill will meant by the prior statements that had upset the OP.

The statement that was so traumatizing that it deserved this lovely thread was basically just another poke at gender roles. In saying that you shouldn't be labeled, even casually, as a male, you are asserting the fact that as a female you should be treated differently - often, when a person is treated differently because of an aspect of what they are as opposed to just who they choose to be, it is a negative thing. Heard of discrimination? It's generally not good.

So yeah. What I read is, why force gender into the issue when all that can possibly do is bring about judgment based on something that you cannot control (ie gender - unless you feel the need for a sex change that is). It is better to just treat people as people, and in this circumstance, those people are being called "bro"!

There's a block button also if you rate down a post you have an option to report it if it is that offensive.There's also that little X at the top of your page you can click and you don't have to see those people post ever again. I don't think there is really a need for a record of misuse...

Yeah some people on here are really annoying but they may feel the same about you. If something is really so terrible I'm sure someone with admin would take care of it.

Not at all.

I don't think that they "intentionally offended" people in this circumstance. Perception is relative, but at the same time, perception begets one's reality. By assuming that your perception is correct, and then arguing that other people's perception is incorrect (the second issue a lot worst than the first; thinking you are right is fine if you keep your mind open) you open yourself up for people who, themselves, see their side fighting for the greater good.

In this case, it is unwarranted censorship vs lols.

lols usually have a good team backin 'em, but the contestant in this fight is going to bring yet more people, who generally observe but don't contribute (like myself) out to defend what they believe in.

Both parties involved in mudslinging need to grow up. The insulters should grow up a little and try and be more patient and less insulting, and the insulted need to grow up and not let OMFGHESAIDABADWORDONTHEINTERNET bother them so much and realize it's not really worth raising their pressure over or feeling really insulted over.
