Posting this as a warning to others not to make the same mistake that I did..
A few days ago I tried to upgrade Creed Cuisses to +1 status. I had activated the trial as a superstition thing while I was questing the seals, then stored them with the Porter Moogle. After an epic battle with Asanbosam (Kazaki, Menthe and I trioed him, huzzah!) I received my 8th and final seal.
I went to Jeuno, got the pants out of porter storage, traded them to the Magian Moogle to re-apply the trial. I didn't get the normal animation you normally get when you take a trial on, so I traded him again. He then told me I had already accepted the trial. Instead of looking at the pants, I assumed I was re-flagged and good to go. So I traded my 8 seals to the box, it said "You have completed the trial! Report your success to the Moogle!" Woot, right? No. Not woot. You apparently have to manually cancel the trial before you can re-imprint your trial gear.
Right now my seals are in Limbo, I'm not sure what's going to become of them. I waited around for 5 hours to hear from a GM, I got three automated responses telling me they'd get back to me in 24-48 business hours. I don't think it's going to turn out well, and the seals are probably lost.. since I technically have to abandon the trial to do it again. I may have missed it, but never once did I see anything other than "storing a piece of equipment will erase your current trial progress". I'm guessing by "erase your current progress" they meant "oh yeah, you should also be sure to talk to the moogle and cancel the trial too."
TL;DR: If you store a piece of Empyrean Armor that you accepted the trial on, make sure you talk to the moogle, cancel your trial, then accept it again before depositing your seals into the crate, or they may be lost. I'll post back whatever resolution the GMs give me (If any)
Just a head's up because I don't want anyone making the same mistake that I did. I guess I'm starting back from scratch on them. T_T

It was on Monday that I did this, and I still can't seem to get a GM to talk to me personally. At this point I'd welcome their "I know how frustrating this can be, Daddyx of Sand'Oria, but you're a dipshit and deserved to lose 8 Creed seals because A) you should have checked the pants and B) that band sucks anyhow and C) lolpld.. Unfortunately, we can't help your dumb *** so please to go get more seals nao" spiel.
I know it was a silly oversight on my part, and would probably be pretty preventable in most cases.. but given the time I put into getting the seals, and my now seething hatred for Yurim, it would just be nice for 2 minutes of a GM's time to tell me to cancel the trial that now shows as completed in my trial log. I have plenty of people who have volunteered their gracious services to help me kill NMs for the seals ( <3 ), but at this point it's kinda principle that I'm not getting to talk to an actual GM. I've made 5 calls, and worded them all differently as the occasional automated response has directed me to do.
So my question is: Short of committing a violation myself, or making a good one up.. how in the HELL do you get a GM to respond to you in person these days? x.x

Just an FYI
Quote: *If you store an item with Trial of the Magians in progress, any trial insignia will be erased from that item, requiring you to cancel the trial and start over.
This WAS in the Update notes...
That no one ever seems to read :(
Hope ya get it fixed soon.

Usually, when something happens as a direct result of someone not reading the update notes, they like to take their time.

Yeah, I shoulda / coulda / woulda read the update notes, but I apparently love to learn things the hard way. Although it seems kinda faulty on SE's side for allowing the crate to accept the seals without the trial being in order. As I said, I'm aware all too painfully that this is my mistake, and I own it, but it just seems like it's silly for the crate to accept the seals without the insignia being on the pants. I don't know how that could be fixed programing wise, other than maybe making whatever you put into the crate something you're able to retrieve before you cancel said trial.
It's mainly the lack of GM contact that's got me peeved, but I wanted to post this as a friendly heads up just to make others aware (for those like me who may not read all the update notes!) so that I'm hopefully one of a very few that makes this particular mistake. ^^;

1. make a GM call
2. put stuck in the details part
3. wait for GM to appear (usually takes around 5mins for me)
4. explain situation

There should be no need to make GM call you can cancel any Trial from the original moogle. Just talk to him he will bring up a list of active trials and allow you to cancel them through him.

This could have been easily avoided. Why did you even bother to activate the trial and waste one of your 5 open trial spaces before you obtained all 8 seals? There was absolutely no reason to do this. The crate accepted the seals for the first open trial you had, The pants themselves were just wiped of the trial markings. There's no glitch It's just user error.
I'm not going to pat your back and say it wasn't you fault. Lesson learned. Have some foresight next time.

There's really no need to be cutting about it.. I said it was my mistake and owned up to it.. never once have I tried to say it wasn't. In case you didn't read the OP, I activated the trial initially out of superstition, the same way some people stand on their head with their tongue touching their nose in hopes of synthing an HQ.
The intent of the post was to serve as a warning to others.. if I've stopped even one person from making the same silly mistake, I've accomplished that goal.

Just to update, thanks to a night of fun with several friends, 8 more seals were obtained! Wiped the trial and restarted it, then traded in my 8 new seals and got the shiny pants! Many thanks to the people that helped, it's greatly appreciated <3
I followed Krazyrs' advice and wiped all of the other trials I had active, I'll wait to activate them until I have all the necessary items. Thanks everyone for the sympathetic ears, I certainly appreciate it! ^.^v
