I watched a TV programme last night about people addicted to playing online role playing games .Just out of interest, How many hours a week do U think U play FFXI? I must say at 1 point i went a bit ff mad, have pulled a few "all nighters" but sometimes it just cant be helped,Your not really gonna get the good stuff only playing for like 20 mins, some of these things take hours .... its just the way the game is designed don't you think?
Would any of you say you feel addicted to play? or could u just cut off from it right now and never rtn?

At one point I was managing on average 14hr days (sometimes more) because I was with a US linkshell so all the events started at 1am. So on that basis Id say 98-100hrs a week....not cool lol.
Now as I have uni work to do etc, I probably play 5-6 hrs a day, so in a week thats 35-42hrs a week. Only rough figures mind you because some days I play longer and others I play less.

When I was playing hardcore while working 40 hours a week... it would be like 8-4 work, 4:30-1am FF, 1am-7:30 sleep. Then play all day sat/sun.
So that is like roughly 70 hours a week. I did that for a long time, but I slowly burned myself out. I now play anywhere between 0-5 hours a week.

well when I had a job.... I played about 5-6 hrs a night.
Now that I don't I find myself on 12 hrs a day, but I don't mean to be doing that for to long. I need money so ill be looking for a job lol.

Sometimes I spend hours camping something, but most my general play time is spent farming or leveling which is often done in short spurts. Or, at least it used to be back when you could still find parties. Now most my time seems to be spent LFP.

I played a ton~ TON before I graduated college and started working. I usually spend one of my two "weekend" nights (I work 3rd shift) playing. I might log on before, I might not. (1-2 hours) and I might spend a couple hours in Abyssea if I find a group early enough after I get home (rarely).
Average. I would say about: 15 or so, but def not more than 25.

Not as much as I used to. Back in high school it was about 30 hours a week. When I started college it was about the same, perhaps more. However, this year I began to play less and less. Currently it's 10 hours at most.

As for addiction, I go out of town a lot
and leave the game behind without a thought.

when i lived at parents house was like all weekend and the moment i got back from work5pm till 1.30am ish, but now it runs most over the weekend whilst im doing stuff around the house (LFP), during the week if im on my own 3 -4 hrs a night, if partner is about 1-2 hrs a night. he thinks im addicted lol
