Um okay, hope this is in the right forum.
Basically I'm trying to uninstall FFXI + Playonline + all expansion packs from my old laptop. I've successfully uninstalled WOTG>TOAU>COP>ROZ>Playonline and am currently stuck on the "validating install" screen for the past 45 minutes, the status bar has hardly moved at all. I tried canceling, rebooting PC, repeat but same thing every time. Tried closing AV same thing. Did a defrag, same ***. WTF am I doing wrong?!
FFXI Won't Uninstall
FFXI won't uninstall
Just delete the PlayOnline folder and delete the registry keys if the uninstaller won't work, then go to Programs and Features in the control panel and try to uninstall it, Windows will say it's already gone and ask if you want it removed off the list of installed programs, job done.

Vista is horrible for doing anything that involves deleting or even moving files. I walk away if i have to move a 50k .exe from one location to another. Can't imagine a full ffxi uninstall. I'd say start it and go to sleep.

just format the damn hard disk, you need rid of vista anyway.

-Select which programs you want to uninstall, and then...

FFXI was coded for the PS2. Not the PC, so naturally, it is going to perform better on a PS2.
HOWEVER.
Because of severe advances in technology since the PS2's release, you are just better off playing on a PC.
No way in hell you are going to get capped FPS in even Lower Jeuno on a PS2, and I'd rather not have to rely on the PS2's rather shitty Network Adapter when I am doing something important.
