I did once. Was in a party with a bad PL who kept telling me to pull even when we had 4-5 mobs coming after me. He couldn't get the hate off and I died. Told me to do it again, got pissed that I pulled normally, has someone else pull, party wipe. This continued for about four of my deaths, then I forceDC.
I fake d/c in places where I will aggro from resting, like Cargo Crab Colin's area in Korroloka Tunnel.
I haven't and I don't really understand it.
I'm not a fan of being sneaky or w/e the reason is.
Something came up and I have to go:
"***guys, something came up and i have to log, peace."
If a person feels like they're not permitted to log out
or something then they have their priorities fkd lol.

Shutdown your system without logging out is probably the fastest way

My crappy PC does that all on it's own. My PSU and GPU are on their last legs which causes all sorts of crashing problems.
if the party isnt so hot and you dont want to get a rep to put them through it and when you are really tired falling asleep.
or when you tell ldr you have 30min to go could you get a rep 45minutes pass they didnt get a rep and ask you how much longer... you got that is when you say f it and d/c

Just once, as very young nooblets. My husband and I were on a social ls of people we knew in rl. My husband and I were arguing with each other at the time, and for some reason decided we would work out our disagreement better if we were logged off. But we didn't want to explain to our rl pals that we were arguing, so we just sorta awkwardly pulled the plug on the router. /blush.

I don't Ninja Log, I like to tell people they are ***, why they are ***, then point out that I am leaving because X player is ***.
If you don't label them as incredibad, they will always be ***, as they won't know how to resolve it.

Nah I usually check rank first tbh, I know rank doesn't mean everything, but rank 5 and under I'm usually patient with, however, 5-10 I can be pretty short fused with, they should know basics by now.

ok, i might have one time. i was in a merit pt as rdm/whm and i had to go pick up my gf from work. i told the pt either to find a rep or just wait about 10 mins till i come back. the leader flat out told me that i absoluty cannot leave the pt or go afk because he was about to hit 75 in about 3 more kills. i think he called me a few choice words to, but i just told him to kiss my *** and i hit ctrl+alt+del and left.

I think I did this once on a very very rude party.
Another time (abyssea) it was a 50% forced dc, FFXI booted me and there was no motivation to log back in. (Too late)

I do but not for the same reasons that the common player fake dc's. Sadly, because people are not worthy of trust and I have no faith in them except in the eternal ordinance that people will ruin ***; the purpose of my fake dcing and technique is classified. Believe me, there is are great discoveries. Pretty sure I am the only person ever to pull one particular thing off in the history of FFXI. Let him that has knowledge understand.

Depends on the party if it was a good party ill find a rep.
If they have wasted my time coming to X place to get multiple afks deaths and very little exp.
I will tell party something came up. Unless they have really annoyed me and its time for bed then force dc is sometimes an option.

2 I don't want to wait for replacement because im very sleepy and there is people that don't care and they *** on you if you leave without replacement,
3. abyssea pts that fails getting TE fr more than 60 mins, if you leave they *** on you, i rather waste my minutes on dc,
4. fail dynamis
5.emergencies /rl issues (most of the time)
