i dont see how they'd be old thou
i just went back to comcast maybe in march
well they'd be old if they just jacked into existing cable wire and didn't install new wires or anything.
do you mean the wires like running to my house? because i think they just jacked into my old stuff since i was a customer before and everything

It's Comcast standard procedure to crimp a new head on the bnc connectors for their new customers.
if the tech follows procedure
well the guy i had went up the pole and seemed to be doing stuff up there and then came back into my house and he didnt do anything with the cables i had, just told me to put em in the modem and the cable boxes

Most of them do. From what I've seen those coax heads are the most resilient of them all.
They can be submerged in water, rusted over 70% of the way etc and still transmit data well over the cable line caps as opposed to other types of physical connectors. Usually a coax head isn't the culprit.

I'm gonna have to agree with prince on this, it's deffinetly just something wrong in general and nothing to do with stuff at our house.

They have a logical cap. If you reach above 250GB for a few months in a row, they'll send you a letter about it.
They do implement traffic shaping.
But as far as a hard cap, no.

250 GB seems like it would be hard to fill up

250GB is actually total bandwidth. Up and Down. You'll be surprised how fast you'll send 100GB going up if you leave a torrent running lol.
But if you don't overdo it, they won't even care.

Nah, there's no hard cap.
If you hit the "cap", they do audits and automatic reporting, for more than 3-4 months straight, they'll send you an email or letter.

Since the update I have had terrible issues with my connection.
I get R0'd like crazy during the day time and in certain battlefields.
I had Comcast come out and check my service.
They didn't find a problem but did note that i had a weaker than normal signal.
I had everything rewired and a new modem/router installed,
my internet connection is great. However,
none of that solved the problem with my FFXI connection.
I have been in this house over a year without an R0 or d/c problem
but after this last big update I've had nothing but that.
A high percentage of my in game friends have had the same issues,
tho i'm not sure of their ISP. I have to think it is the game servers
because I'm still online when the game R0 and/or d/c.
Any ideas?

I'm curious, do you work or have you worked for Comcast in the past? Or any other cable provider? As someone who does anything and everything communications cable related in the military you seem to know more than most about it.
Does anyone here have Comcast, because I'm having a problem with their modem.
Every few minutes and even sometimes several times a minute i will lose access to the internet, when playing FFXI i will R0, on my PS3 i'll lag up and get kicked from whatever i was playing online, and when im just on the interwebz firefox will tell me i dont have access to the internet
and sometimes the modem will reset itself after that will happen
im just wondering if anyone has had similar problems with their Ubee D3.0 modem and if they fixed it if they can help me out
