Though I always thought Target heartheart was based on age and weight. Well and then there was different ranges for different lvls of activity but yeah

i thought the whole carrots help your eyesight thing was a myth spread in britain during WWI/II. it was for the airmen so that they could see better in the planes or something.
If I remember correctly, that rumor was spread to help explain the added effectiveness newly invented radar gave.

Yeah, my target heart rate while exercising is way lower than what I actually put effort into working out. As in I'm somewhere around the target heart rate of an eight year old. I'm surprised my heart hasn't exploded at some point in my military career.

If they would just do away with hand held controllers and make everything controlled by a DDR type pad, we'd all be alot moar in shape.

I don't really like that comparison anyways. I once met a 70something retire navy vet that chain smoked. That dude ran so much faster than us that he was going passed us on his way back before most the people even got half way done. And we only had to run to the end not come back like he did

still gotta move the chocobo somehow. But you still have to run places, you run around in dynamis, salvage, to campaign, to the AH etc etc

srsly, imagine having to physically run to get places in FFXI. I knew a guy who was dubbed the local 'DDR king, heavyweight division'. To this day is huge, but he plays DDR like a scrawny white kid on crack.

A university academic conducted a series of physical and psychological tests to determine whether playing on computers could be defined as a sport.
"The cyber-sportsmen had mental sharpness and psychological traits comparable to 'real' athletes, and reacted to visual stimuli almost as fast as fighter jet pilots. But their fitness levels were shockingly low and comparable to people either much younger or much older than their actual age.
One leading gamer in his twenties appeared to be slim and healthy with a physique similar to an endurance athlete. But tests revealed he in fact had the lung function and aerobic fitness of a heavy smoker in his sixties.
Dr Micklewright blamed the gaming lifestyle of spending 10 hours a day in front a computer screen and warned youngsters against such a sedentary lifestyle. He said: 'Someone of this age should be much fitter, but perhaps this is the occupational hazard of the professional gamer who can spend around 10 hours a day in front of a screen.'"
