9 years, 5 retirements and 3 attempts to build, I've finally accomplished my ultimate goal in ffxi! There are many thanks to be said throughout the years, and while the importance of this has lost it's luster for it's now a dime-a-dozen achievement, I consider this more of a sentimental trophy dedicated for the many who have come and gone on this long journey of mine. Let us first summarize and give thanks to Dienamis linkshell, my first Dynamis LS who got the Attestation of Vigor and Necropsyche for me back in 2005. I would also like to thank Grand Design for helping me obtain the Tenebrous Fragment in 2009. Ultimately, there are too many people to name but this relic was built and is not solely mine for it's entirety also belongs to one of if not my best in-game / become RL brother, Seshu. Since the Dynamis Updates in 2010, we have gone inside farming currency for me and though we retired in Feb 2012, we came back 9 months later and put in 2 months more of work to finish HIS and MY relic. Again, my heart and gratitude go out to all who have been there for me during this journey and though I may not specify each one, you know who you all are! Much love and yes, I troll'd and muled back my 75 gear just for the screenshot! Massive thanks to Zaphir and Malekith for the loans! Thank you to my awesome fiance, Ovr, for not getting mad when I uh borrowed 10m to finish my 70 bynes lol. A big fu to Stryger for not doing a better job at convincing me relic making is the devil, but a bigger thanks to him for some gil and currency! Thanks to Yomisha for the motivation to crank this out in the end! It's not 'hard to get' anymore but when I finally got mine last year I was estatic. At long last I have finished my prolonged goal! I want to thank anyone and everyone who helped me farm Kirin, farm Aspidechione, or King Behemoth. Collecting the abjurations was only half the work; a big shout-out to all the saintly crafters who randomly crafted the pieces and waited patiently for them to sell. I know this isn't a 119 R/M/E screenshot (probably does not compare) but, as a seasoned trophy-hunter this 3-year hunt coming to its conclusion is worthy of being my 1st screenshot ^_^ (P.S: I apologize for low-quality of the pic, I don't do this very often, if not, at all)At long last I have finished my prolonged goal! The result of an impulse to try to obtain Herkuleskeule. Personally, I found add-burning this guy to be easier than Podarge since there's no reason to dial down the DPS at any time during the fight. With NPC's and a Fast Cast set, keeping Reprisal up is easy enough and prevents the annoying Defense Down and Encumbrance from the auto-attacks and Riptide Eupnea, respectively. To be completely honest, this stunt is enabled by the adds around the area. Were they not flies or crabs, this would be much harder if not impossible. Since the viability of Trust-soloing third-wave Arciela on SCH came up, I actually had an opportunity to test it out and I can say for certain it's entirely possible. Cast helices based on the day into Ascension or Descension, not against them and use NPC's that complement you tanking as opposed to an NPC tank. She has not one single physical source of damage, so she cannot hurt you if you keep Regen on. It didn’t take very long for August to bite the dust. As for her choice of Naakuals, I got Kumhau twice, and one of Colkhab and Yumcax, which explains why my NPC's are all dead. It's moments like these which makes FFXI a special game. Where fans of the series can bunch together and overcome obstacles. We grinded for over a year to become strong enough to tackle what the game has to offer. We're not hardcore players, none of us are elitist, we don't show off and we always have time for those who need help. We win and lose like a family. When we lose, we come together to figure out why. I've always hated having to lead stuff, but these guys make it easy. I've always found the best group of players are those who do what you want, before you even thought of asking them too. They take it upon themselves to do what is right given the situation, and that's due to practice, it's due to listening. It's due to wanting the best for everyone there. We don't have a LS bank. We don't have a points system. We don't have hoarders, we pass items/gear to whoeever needs it most. And we're not closed off to the world, we'll take anyone who is willing to do what they can to win. I already said my thanks in our post in the Cerberus sub-forum. So when someone says you need to be on a populated server to make an Aeonic, let it be known that it doesn't matter how many players are on the server, so long as you can find a nice, small group of players who want to succeed, then anything is possible. It might take longer, but the journey is always better than the destination. We wear our Aeonics with pride, and we'll keep going as long as this remains fun. Peace out.
