Guild Buy Outs

I have a question about guild stores.

I fully understand that guild stores sell out of items.and they only restock everyday when they open. My issue is this: Whenever it is about time for the guild to open, someone always shows up right before (each guild store, well cloth at least) and stands there.

Right when the guild opens up, as fast as I physically can, I go to buy the item, in this case cotton balls, and it is absolutely in stock at this point, I can see its not out of stock. I click on it as soon as I can and it just says something about not being able to do this right now, and it does this until the store is sold out. I have tired, left the menu, went all the way back in, saw it was still in stock and tried again and got the same thing, all before it was sold out. After about 15 seconds, its always out of stock.

My question is: Why does this happen? and how are the other people 100% of the time managing to have this happen and buy all of the cotton?

Better connection, faster computer? If the guild shop only restocks 1 stack of the item a day, then they only have to buy 1 stack for it to be sold out, if their connection is a little better or their computer a little faster, of course they'll get it before you do.

That's my guess anyways.

well I can clear as day see its not out of stock, and I even leave the menu and go back in, with it not out of stock O-o

This was happening a while ago at the woodworking guild, I'm unsure if it's still continuing. A few (say 4, 5) RMT bots would stand -under- the guild npcs in sandy (the staircase to the store runs below the NPCs). From here, they'd buy up all the arrow-wood lumber, it was nigh impossible to buy it while they were there, always the same "You cannot purchase at this time" message.

Eventually I was like fook it, got lumberjack and synthed up my own lumber e____e hehe.

Make a note of any suspicious people nearby who may be hogging the guild, naked lv1 /anon mules are a great sign, and then GM it.

There really isn't any point in buying all the XXX items, there are a lot of guilds, and those that the guilds charge can be made....mostly.

Only thing really I can think of is sushi ingredients (wasabi and vinegar)

RMT do a lot of things that don't make sense, but if it wasn't profitable somewhere down the road then I don't think they'd do it D:

I did the numbers on sushi, its hard to make as big of a profit from other fast consumables. There is only like 50-200 gil profit per synth, and if you break a synth and lose the wasabi, you lose 2k at that.

I really don't make sushi unless I am bored or something. But the last few times this bot kept buying all the ingredients in jeuno. Like its hard to go to Nashmau or Norg and get ingredients there >.>

ack! I had no idea they'd started on the sushi market too ; ;. Granted, I never synth it for profit, only what me and my husband need, but that's still a royal pain in the bumcheeks!

I was pretty used to the RMT going nuts on arrow synths and the like, oh! and let's not forget shihei too ; ; haha.

Sushi is only profitable if you HQ the hell out of it. And even then, its kindof hard and long to get a stack of HQ sushi. Plus it takes forever to sell.

I find other consumables that sell faster and have greater profits. Thats why I don't do sushi that often.

Amen on that D: I think I tried doing sole sushi once, and made a little profit, but it's kinda amusing to watch other cooks freak out and undercut the stacks by crazy amounts just to sell first :P So after that, I just synth enough for what I can consume^^

I love selling the more obscure foods when I have time to sit down and synth, especially if I get lucky with stuff like king truffles and the like >:3

The Clothcraft Guild store stocks one (1) cotton ball / day. Not a stack.

It will sell for 200 Gil. Now check the price of a stack on the AH for your server.

Don't need a bot, a turbo controller + platform works as well, perhaps even better.

The real answer for those who need cotton is level THF to 10 - 15 and steal them from Sarutaburata Mandies. Not the level 1 beginner Mandies though.
