I know this probably isn't the best place to ask but, that FFXIV beta invite code thingy that came with FF13 was only a regular application form right? It's not a guaranteed spot is it?
nope its just a chance at a beta spot.
Bleh, I already entered on the official site. I wonder if registering again with the promotion code will help? Anyone else sign up twice so to speak?
Kinda late on this, but I got my invite the day they sent em out. Only one of my old crew that I know of that was selected for Alpha, which also gives a guaranteed invite to the closed Beta.
Looks like we will have an NDA, but I still look forward to checking it out. I haven't been an Alpha tester for anything since Quake and Duke Nuke Em 3D, which were both a LONG time ago...
Don't plan to try to access it until after work tonight, so hopefully it is up and running by then.
page cannot be displayed page cannot be displayed page cannot be displayed. over and over and over again. I got to the change the username section, then it stoped working. So i restarted to see if it would work, now im not even getting to the log in section lol
I was just thinking, Is this the start of the Beta test or is this the start of the Alpha test? Cause if it's the Alpha test then i don't need to wait right now. lol
it might be due to using Internet explorer(I just spent my morning trying to log in via IE and epic failed),, tried downloading Firefox and it now purrs like a kitten,,,, hope this helps,,, whish I had found a post about this lol

dont think the browser really matters, I myself had lots and lots of trouble trying both firefox and chrome like 7 hours ago, but now it works fine in all 3, ie, ff & chrome.
If it actually did matter, I would have to disagree with you in which way it matter lol. because it was all *** up for me on both firefox and chrome, while works perfectly on IE.
I didn't do anything illegit to alpha test Quake back in the day, just happened to know a guy who knew a guy. It was only like 1 level with weapons and no enemies.
Still, it was cool because the obvious upgrade over Doom II, which a lot of people were still playing at the time, was incredible.
As for the Alpha, yes, included in the e-mail was the info that we are not to disclose anything. People will, I'm sure, and friends of mine have been hounding me for details. Of course at this point there are none to give anyway, but I'm not about to get myself ban-sticked for breaking an NDA during an alpha test.
Also, they said that characters from alpha would not carry over to beta or final release. They didn't say anything about whether beta characters would possibly carry over. Alpha testers do, however, get automatic invite to closed beta.
With the eagerly anticipated FINAL FANTASY XIV drawing ever nearer its beta test phase, we are excited to announce that we will be conducting a closed alpha test—exclusive to our loyal FINAL FANTASY XI users!
Those who have been selected as beta testers can expect to receive further information starting from Monday, March 1.
* The tester website is scheduled to go live on Thursday, March 11.
Those who were not selected in this drawing, fear not, for there will be other opportunities to come. Be sure to stay tuned!
