I don't really care at this point, which is kind of sad. I try to go to all my other classes so far :x But when the end of October hit, I just haven't cared anymore. Everything's just so f$%&ed.

Advanced Classical Chinese :x It's a grad class. I wish I didn't take it because I just didn't have the energy to do all of it (guess that stuffs meant for people taking 2 classes onry ><) especially right now, I'm like, no, I'm not going to spend 4 hours and translated HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE Chinese philosophical texts. Tai chi is really interesting and fun to do, but when we had to do it for laptop orchestra stuff, my professor would blab on and on about the philosophical aspects of it until he ran out of breath. I was pretty much like this:

wow umm advanced classical chinese sounds as bad as my Bacterial Population Genetics class i took this year lol. but we had no hw and no final. just a practical

Oh no this had nothing to do with microbiology whatsoever! Bacterial Population Genetics is all math and theoretical population/death models. (e.g. Mornan, Wright-Fisher etc)
Plus im a doctoral student now. I served my time of bellshape curve final exams and midterms for four years as an undergrad lol

ya first semester is fun, when all you read is simple moral stories, but then start getting into the 诗经 道德经 淮南子 ａｎｄ ａｌｌ ｔｈｏｓｅ ｏｔｈｅｒ ｓｔｕｐｉｄ ｊｉｎｇｓ, it gets old very fast.
the only good thing is the 战国策 imo :p that's some funny stuff

I don't miss exams and coursework. I was just glad that in my final year that the exams were 3 essays from 6 so I could just dodge any maths-oriented ugliness.
Although, saying that, maths and diagram questions are usually better for getting points because students tend to have bad habits of being tautological when writing essays. :S

I wouldn't say it was a flawed system per se. I just thought when I was revising that the number of subjects covered in each module was so massive that you couldn't properly prepare.
Our lecturers were all "You need to provide evidence of outside reading to get a first" which isn't an easy feat when you have no idea what to read for the best. I remember I spent a while reading up on RNAi for a microbial genetics exam and the question didn't even come up.
So maybe they should make their exams and revision guidelines less of a lottery lol
