Is it just me, or does a lot of people still use this "old school" classic crafting timer.

Here is another timer. It's major use is for fishing I believe, but I use it for gardening and what not. Basically the same thing:

Hehe, these would be the fancy one I suppose that kinda surfaced later. But that Lokyst one was the first crafting crafter for NA I believe :3

I still use the one at Lokyst.net. I figure it can't hurt to take the extra few seconds to turn the right way. I used to use Clanwind all the time for fishing, but they blocked it at work, so now I use finalfishing.com. I don't ever remember using clanwind for crafting, though. Maybe I just never found that part XD

There's another crafting timer at http://www.iluvitar.com/sections/ffxi/craft/crafttimer.html, but I never used it because I liked Lokyst's better. Also, Lokyst's comes up first in a google search for "ffxi crafting timer," and I'm notoriously lazy. XD

Wow, something still remains of the old Team Evil. It was my first LS, and a subset of a RL group based in Toronto.

The LS and the web site are long gone.

/sigh

I still use this timer a lot and show all the new guilders how to use it as example of the moons effects in game. I dont know if it really is as accurate as it was few years ago but it does still work.

Anyone know Lokyst ? I think he pulled this from allakhazam back when ige bought them for awhile but he never came back. I would really like to see the notes thread again on how it calculates or at least the java script. That guy was pretty amazing and should get a lot of credit for great program.

Incidentally, IGE still owns Allakhazam, through a self-created shell company called Affinity Media.

Actually they do not own them outright like they did and our now part of that Zam Network. Technically your correct but I think this thing has been beat to death on allakhzam. But I did find out there is a post of the theory behind lokyst before it was erased....

I do. Even if it is just a placebo, it "helps" me feel I am able to squeeze as many skill ups out of a synth as fast as I can.

if there off its usually cos your system clock doesnt say the correct time. or ya region settings have been altered.

timer only ever loses sync for me when im overseas somewhere. sure the clock might say its 5:00 when its 5:00 but if ya system thinks your in a different country it'll be off.

ONe of my friend is 100/60/60/blabla, he showed me the crafter timer, when i started alchemy, i am still using it, since i got no errors from it, and helped me a lot beginning. With carefully watching every .1 and using timer i got 0-60 alchemy less than a week, so it cant be that hard.

somewhat off, but still crafting, to break HQ tiers (11, 31, 51) do you actually need to have skill reaching the gap, or reaching it through item+ support helps?

I never did use the crafting timer thing, i just craft whenever i feel like it.. and so far i do great so nothing can convince me to go out of my way and wait for a game day when i already have limited play time

+ item and + 3 from synth support do count as levels.

Yes. Say you are 100+3 and grab synth support this is effectively 106 skill, you break tier 1 on anything up to level 95 skill (unless it has a lvl 60 sub)

I've noticed the past few months that the clanwind.com site has been down. I can't seem to find where they moved to. Does anybody know where they are, or if there is another comparable fishing database?

Thanks a ton!

Oh wow, thanks. I've been using Kida's guide since I started fishing and never noticed that it actually has a fishing database as well. I agree, it's a great reference.

Thanks!

I really liked Clanwind. I wish I knew who ran it so I could just have them send it to me and I'd host it for them. I really liked the ability to pull up the whole month to see when new and full moon are going to be.

I use Inferias Vanatime program. It is set to autostart when FFXI starts. It also has a neat plugin for my Logitech G15 gaming keyboard that allows me to see times w/o alt tabbing on my keyboards LCD display.

The site on the very first post does that. And cool options like checking new/full for certain days and such
