This thread is fail, you guys watched some HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE cartoons growing up, how come no one has mentioned xmen?
Funny cartoons > "badass" cartoons. If I want some epic fighting, I'll just watch anime.
X-Men was pre 90s not post 90s too wasn't it? I can't say for sure as I could never get into super hero type stuff. Just pritty sure it's older then me
Family Guy, infact it's the only cartoon I watch anymore.
Used to be, new episodes of family guy are too *** liberal and annoying. American dad is way better imo.
So instead of liberal you're going to the other end of the spectrum?
I don't actually sit there look deep into what the show says.. It's just entertainment, I could give a damn about Seth's deeper meanings.
I can't stand American Dad.. At best I'll tollerate it as background noise.
I like Family Guy because I enjoy the interactions between all the characters.. I almost despise all of the characters in American Dad.
I love that Peter is such a *** idiot, and that Brian is a drunken intellectual. Meg is the loser that the entire family laughs at.. Then there's Stewie, what more can you really want in a baby? I just like all the characters.

char wise, there all pretty much exactly the same......, I hate family guy mainly because of the dog and all the new episodes have been about him lately, , and the "like the time i" jokes also get old, American dad has done a "like the time i" joke prolly once
I know plenty of people have lost interest in the show, and I'd be lying if I said the newer ones are my favorites, but I still like the show. I actually have this deep hatred of cartoons, so for me to actually like it, says more than me saying "I like it".
You don't have to be a genius to understand the humor, but you will also miss a lot if you're not too bright.. It's right in my realm of enjoyability. I don't like to have to think a lot to understand the jokes or hidden meanings behind the jokes in TV shows/movies, but I don't want it to be so obvious that the only people who won't get the jokes are 3 year olds and vegetables.
Well the new episodes of American dad are pwning, and new family guys are sucking, American dad to me is like the Colbert report, and family guy is like jon stewart.
In family guy the dog, much like jon stewart pretty much just pokes at anything, and tells his liberal views, and does parodies
however Stan smith and Stephen Colbert, are a self parody republican, They act extremly republican, and the funniest thing about them is that No 1 rly knows If Stephen Colbert, is rly like that, or is just portraying the stereotypical republican. ( i think hes just a parody, but sometimes i wonder if in his show he acts like that irl....)
Stan smith is a cartoon, so its obvious hes just being the sterotypical republican.
I hate both of Colbert's and Stewart's shows as well.. Actually you can tack on all those late night talk shows to the list as well.. Leno, Letterman, that one British dude, Conan..

I seriously don't get the appeal <_<
Colbert and stewart are mainly just news shows lol if you dont care about news odds are you wont like them. I hate most news, and those 2shows are the closest thing I get to news(sad thing is there prolly both 2 of the best sources of news) I hate watching fox and cnn news , (fox especially) because there extremly biast on everything, colbert report and daily show, just tell the news and make fun of it.
Colbert report was hillairous last week, cause his bffsm(best friends for six months) Jimmy falon made colbert sing rebekca blacks friday on his show, I set my alarm , just so i could watch that part, and it may have been the best 4min of tv ever >_>
anyways back on topic....
I liked dragon ball z alot, mainly the cell saga when gohan was actually awesome, not when he was "MYSTIC GOHAN" during majin boo saga >_>
I don't think Family Guy is as clever as it used to be, but I feel the same about most long running shows now.
Simply said, they're running out of media to make fun of. When it started, sky's the limit. Now that they've pretty much hit anything well known, it's starting to get a little dull.
I love Family Guy to death (and American Dad) but I will admit that it is getting pretty meh. I don't even watch it when a new episode comes out on Sunday - I just wait until Adult Swim airs it.

All good things must come to an end.
Right now the thing to make fun of is internet videos >_>

While that's true, I think it's gone downhill since it was canceled the first time. All the humor they use is pretty lowbrow IMO.

Can't really blame that on anything other than the path our media is going.. I started noticing it when everything aired on TV had it's own webpage or email.. Now everything has it's own Youtube, Facebook, Email, Webpage, etc etc..
Video killed the radio star, CDs killed cassetts, just as cassetts killed 8-tracks.. Soon, probably a lot sooner than anyone realizes, internet will kill TV.
Social Media marketing is the popular thing these days. It wont' last though.
I would have to disagree with that.. The only way social networking is dying, is if the retards who perpetuate the majority of it die off and stop using the internet, since that's not happening, neither will the die off of social networking sites.. Hell I remember this stuff from a period before a lot of people do, LiveJournal.. While not the exact same, the basics of it was the same, add friends, tell everyone who could really give a damn what you're thinking at the moment, etc.
Either way, even if somehow social networking dies off, internet is going to kill TV, I would say it would kill off movies as well, except there's a certain experience the average person can't get at home that they can in the theater, however computers are easily able to replicate the same experience of TV, in fact, my computer has a TV tuner card in it, plus surround sound.. My TV is an old peice of ***27 inch SDTV, my computer monitor is only slightly smaller, but the monitor is capable of HD, while the TV is not. This isn't even an expensive set up.
Well, it may not go away due to the fact that it's cheap, but the effectiveness of it will dwindle as everyone and their mother wants to do social marketing.

Almost everyone these days has a computer capable of using a TV tuner card (a lot of TV tuner cards use regular PCI slots, you know the slots that dial-up modem is sitting in, in that factory built PC you have? PCI is so rarely used by people who build their own rigs that even they have a free spot for it.), and a TV tuner card is like 50 bucks or so.. It takes the same cable that your TV does, even cable boxes for digital cable.. Also, my PS3 is hooked up to my monitor, not my TV (since I have a shitty SDTV lol)..
It's not really cheaper to have a TV now.. I'm telling you, in a few years TV is going to be replaced, they will be viewed as relics much like record players are now.. Sure there will be people who fight tooth and nail to hang onto it for nostalgia's sake, and the way TV tuner cards are, will still be feeding the same signal a TV uses into houses, but in 5-10 years time, when someone talks about watching "Television" they will be referring to their computer.
There's another added bonus.. People LOVE multi-tasking electronics. That's why electronic companies are constantly bundling systems into one single combo system.. Advertisers will sell it something like "Why have two screens when you can have your TV and your PC in one compact, space saving, cost cutting system?" and people will eat the ***up..

I agree with you on the Internet > TV lol I was just talking about social media. I've been considering getting rid of my TV for a long time now since I can do everything on my laptop.
Oh yeah, I don't see it dwindling at all.. Too many people perpetuate it.. I don't think it'll always be the same site, I mean a few years ago Myspace was -the- thing, now if you tell someone you use Myspace they're like "you still use Myspace?". But the idea isn't going to die off.. The "in" site will just change.
