Something I've been wondering for awhile... is Charm affected by (light) magic accuracy? I'm not aware if there have been any extensive tests on this before; depending on, I might be able to change some equip slots (e.g. Light Grip, Omega Ring) for better or worse.

I could see it going either way, so I think it's a question worth trying to answer.

Well Charm is a JA, so I'd assume that magic accuracy didn't affect it.

Wiki forums had a thread sorta about this, it asked if Light Grip helped Charm. Since Light Grip is light magic accuracy+, thought this could help:
Dalimar said:
OT: I highly doubt the (Light) grip will effect. Most likely someone edited it in thinking it is the same type of bonus as the Elemental staff.

That's true, but it's a funky JA. I can't find anything so far to help give you an answer.

the affects of QD are all magic effects though. There's no magic involved with charm, your charm rates are based totally off your chr and mobs level

BSTs do it when they solo Balor in Sacrarium, sorta. Not a 12 level difference, but a 7-9 level difference, if Wiki has the level of the Blubber Eyes right.

I'm not sure there are many charmable mobs that exist 88+. lol
Scorps in Den of Rancor go to about 80, can't think of many others.
By all means you can test but for bsts to have completely disregarded m.acc involved in charms for this long would seem highly unlikely.

Yeh those slimes are about 7-9 levels and also have a high resist charm trait.
I've 2hr'd plenty for sacrarium/aquaducts hunting, sometimes you charm sometimes you don't I've never considered anything else to come into effect on mobs like that.

Well aside from your bst lvl being that low I know your base chr is going to be a lot higher.

Well elemental staffs do alot more then just enhance macc of those elements. They pretty much improve almost everything of those elements from potency to perp cost. Really shouldn't be a suprise it helps a light element ja

If you're actually bst this time yeh it would be ridiculous to charm something like that. However if your something75/bst37 then I couldn't say.
When you use your gauge job ability it determines chr vs mob lvl and whether you can charm or not, you could test by just running around gauging stuff.

Actually this would answer the OP exactly, if m.acc had any affect on charms then would see a difference in your gauge messages.

Your not 38 bst though its your sub, I can almost guarantee you'll get a different gauge msg as 38bst main vs 75/bst37.
What your saying is that if you were bst main as well you'd still charm, that really wouldn't happen.

lol we can also see that you had it slept, so you mustn't have had an easy time.

edit
perhaps that was just for safety reasons as oppose to the fact it took you multiple times to charm.

I think the highest msg on charmable pet is very tough. Cannot charm restricted to NMs and family's that can't be charmed.
However if there is a lvl restriction on charm then you'd get the "cannot" msg.

Right well its the fact that light staff has a hidden effect literally of +10% charm rate.
Sucks you got pwnt but good stuff for giving it a shot lol.
Personally what I have been wondering more about is m.acc on Primal Rend.
I can only assume that it affects it like Cor's Leaden Salute.
My primal rend dmg on anything tough is like a yoyo :'(

Part of the reason your magical wss might vary quite a bit especially on higher mobs is you probably don't have much in the way of int so even small changes in mob int can make a bit of difference. Magical ws in general tend to be pretty accurate

I'll defo have to have a play around with int sometime, atm the only int I have is from osode, any other int would mean dropping chr.
AF head has int+5 and once I have omega ring that looks like a winner for primal rend, could also take more note of weather/day to see if that's the cause.
I know using primal rend in apollyon is like hitting the mob with a sausage from the double dark.
