Just for the sake of it being entirely topical right now, Mass Effect and Portal on the cheap!

Nutt does use windower macros. Putting macro pallet lines in the server wouldn't really help. Fenrir.Skarwind said: Bahamut.Jetackuu said: Cerberus.Nutt said: OMG Ditto!! Haven't toyed with spell cast so /shrug Quetzalcoatl.Giazz said: Fenrir.Skarwind said: Bahamut.Jetackuu said: Cerberus.Nutt said: OMG Ditto!! I'm a BLM so I have to redo all those stupid macros! I keep it in my dropbox, Means I've got access if I'm on a friends PC or whatever. Well I suppose that works. I keep a backup on my other PC too. I actually play on one PC in fullscreen mode, and edit my files with the other PC by accessing them through the network. No need to log off from the game, unless I'm adding something to the init.txt file. I really wish I would have found this before getting a bit worked up with what I wanted and what Steam wanted me to do. Now it looks like I'll have to reinstall on the laptop... but I guess I can pull out the codes and put them in on the ps2? I guess that's good enough :/
Excuse me for the bump, but I tried following some of the information in this thread to gain mini-expansion codes for my character using Steam. I did it wrong and installed steam-FFXI and registered the single game code because I thought it was for just starting a new account and the particular expansion codes would be given in POL for the new account. Anyways, I want to list the correct steps for anyone else who may make the same mistakes otherwise:
1. Install Steam 2. Register a Steam account 3. Buy FFXI through Steam 4. Do NOT install FFXI through Steam. This is very bad. 5. There will be a single "CD Key" on the right hand side menu in Steam. It's one code to start a new account, but you register it on a new account to get whatever expansions you are missing at once. 6. Uninstall Steam Finally, I have a question about fixing my FFXI now. I uninstalled Steam but my registry is screwed up so my original FFXI doesn't start anymore, giving registry errors. Anyone know how to fix these, i.e. what to change with regedit, besides reinstall? Thanks for any help. It depends, how far can you open up POL?

for 32 bit OS: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PlayOnlinexx\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI for 64 bit OS: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PlayOnlinexx\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI "xx" denotes the regional version. PlayOnline for JP clients, PlayOnlineUS for US clients and PlayOnlineEU for EU clients. Is this where FFXI is located in YOUR registry? Make sure if you download FFXI through steam to not uninstall steam. Unless you feel like redownloading all of it again.
I made that mistake ; ; Also if anyone needs installer files PM me. US version. I just dont get why you need steam if it is the same FFXI files :(

Yes (the 32 bit) but the FFXI folder with its registries are gone now. It's only POL and Tetra. Could you tell me the keys and values? I can remake them that way. Can anyone recommend a registry tool to find residue POL/FFXI registry entries? I uninstalled everything and started reinstalling from scratch only to have the POL installer bork out because it says it detects a previous installment. The files aren't there so it must be a registry key but I can't find it ; ;. I don't want to reinstall Windows just for this...
Random Steam question which I'm pretty sure I know the answer for, just wanted a second/third opinion.
If one was to have an account with all core expansions (no mini-expansions) registered, could they use the single Key given by Steam to register all other mini-expansions? I'm pretty sure that it'll be an all in one, all at once key registry, and not a selective process, but then again I could be wrong. Additionally, I just bought the main pack from Steam and it's a RoW (Rest of the World, ie EU key from what I can gather) edition. If I was to gift the purchase to a friend who was state side, would they recieve the RoW version or the US version/key? CCleaner is amazing for stuff like that, and a good tool to have otherwise. www.piriform.com /necrobump, sorry if this is way too late, etc Lakshmi.Schultz said: Random Steam question which I'm pretty sure I know the answer for, just wanted a second/third opinion. If you buy a game on steam to gift to someone, it will be in the purchaser's region. You'll be giving an EU ffxi to someone. Thanks for the answers. Really does suck that there's still regions with Digital Downloads.
