pup solo shinryu
Hey guys. Any suggestions to solo these HTMB with PUP?
A while ago you could use a primeval brew outside the battlefield, then enter and solo shinryu on pretty much any job.
Now though... K123 said: » Asura.Hadroncollider said: » A while ago you could use a primeval brew outside the battlefield, then enter and solo shinryu on pretty much any job. Now though... There's a hidden entrance to the Shinryu HTMB in Horlais Peak. You will need a Mars Orb to enter. Drop rate is a bit weird, and you die often, but I got 5/5 gear drops that way a lot more easily than with the main entrance.
/s Sorry, no idea about PUP. I did the secret entrance in horlais peak. Across 3 mules and like 3 years never saw a drop.but got 4/5 malignace

If you're talking VD solo, it's going to be a mess, not because it's hard, but because of Cataclysmic Vortex and Supernova. Cataclysmic Vortex can be handled fairly easily by just healing yourself back (though this might be rough if you're depending on timers and PUP self Regen), but Supernova is 100% Doom under 50%. I don't know how well PUP fares vs Doom status effect, but he can use this back to back and spam it when his wings are open, which is annoying if you don't have a Cursna/Holy Water set (Nicander's Neck, Purity/Blenmot+1 etc). You would have to resummon automaton often. I think it would take a really long time and not be worth doing it on VD. His other moves are fairly tame (though he instant-nukes, so you want to silence him). You would be better served on RDM or SCH, IMHO. I think PUP would be a nightmare, but I'm not a very good one and am not capable of soloing stuff like that, so maybe you have a better chance than I could imagine. FWIW, I encourage you to "try" it out a few times on lower difficulty until you get a feel for the battle. You lose nothing but time/ep, but learning experience is gained. IIRC on difficult and very difficult he kills your trusts very quickly so normal is probably the highest you can go if you have to rely on those.
Have to agree with buukki. If I'm not mistaken pets are immune to either death or doom, I think it was death? I don't know if PUP can even remove doom from his pet but even if he can with repair you'd be limited to a 75 seconds cooldown and as buukki mentioned shinryu sometimes spams that move back to back so you'd rely on luck. It's death though i think its only certain kinds, puppets likely best use would be as a healer and i cant really call it a good use tbh Shichishito said: » you'd be limited to a 75 seconds cooldown With AF+3 feet, Repair ALSO removes up to 3 effects. Maintenance just removes 4 and that's it. Now... I don't know if the list of removable effects is different between the two, I tried to dig on wiki but it's not clear honestly. I seem to recall neither of those 2 JAs removed Doom but I could be wrong. Either way even if it does, 45 secs sounds like it's not enough if you ask me. If you can use both JAs in tandem and know for sure it prioritises doom over other debuff removal maybe it could work out. You'd have to time it right so the doom count has already ticked quite low before you fire a JA (Does the Master even see it's pets doom counter?), but only if he doesn't start spamming.
However, the more I think about it the less likely success seems to be. Shinryu also has Terror, Paralyze, Plague, Attack and Magic Attack Down and Atomic Ray adds another -all stats down which is a thick layer of debuffs if PUPs removal methods select debuffs at random. On top of it all Protostar sets all unused abilities on cooldown with a 20 AoE. |
