More pet MAB so I can cap out my magic burst damage on BLM PUP, or maybe they give em’ t6 nukes instead.
I actually *** LOVE this idea.
The ONLY thing that really limits it, is what do you do with the content once you've upgraded all your mats? AND I HAVE A SOLUTION! Make it so you can use this process to upgrade Relic Weapons or AF weapons or Oboro weapons even further! I expect Sam to get a full turtle counter tanking set that also has tons of Store TP and throw on some crit damage+ just for kicks.
Everyone else gets a +1 to every stat on their AF+3. Glorious. tbh I will be SURPRISED if we see stats in this patch, I reckon they will just let us start accumulating points and finalise the armor for the next patch. Just like they did with galli before showing weapons or segs before adding NM fights.

minor increases to what the pieces already do like BLM AF body's MP recovery based on nuke dmg going from 2% to 3. Hopefully giving pieces acc/macc/atk/mab on gear that didn't have them like the RDM AF set where some pieces had acc and others had macc, but never both. Really hoping pet jobs get some love with additional stats. would like to see pet: dt somewhere else more current than abjuration gear that isn't nyame path D, because only path B exists. What I expect from Relic and AF reforge is first and foremost an adjustment to the WS mod, which I expect it's gonna be AT LEAST 12% like Empy.
I wouldn't be surprised to see DT magically appearing somewhere, and then a generic but very small stat boost that can be applied to all pieces in an equal, automatic way, because I really don't see them manually adjusting and balancing 220 different pieces of armor. Maybe some very rare exception here and there, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Regardless, it's still gonna be interesting. Some AF pieces and some Relic pieces are still incredibly good. This update is gonna make them even better and, in turn, it's gonna make viable some other pieces which we no longer use. Sounds good to me, no? Relic body +3 - 9 (you could use af+3 body, but I never made it) relic legs +3 - 10 ambu cape - 10 ryuo somen +1 - 9 (you can use empyrean +3 head for 7, which puts you exactly at 65, but I like the STP from somen) Reiki Yotai - 7 Floral Gauntlets - 5 Hizamaru Sune-Ate +2 - 8 Eabani Earring - 4 Suppanomimi - 5 Gives you 67 Thanks Buuki!

Many, many, many years ago it would've been unthinkable to have something like Razed Ruins outside of Abyssea, but given all the WSD and PDL we've got in recent years, it doesn't seem like it would be that OP? Actually I don't even think it would make crit WS super OP again, but if anything it would definitely close the gap for some WS like CDC, Evisceration, and so on. We already live in a world where this thing exists: Maculele Tiara +3 They've clearly been extremely wary about adding crit rate and especially crit damage over these last years.
It made a lot of sense, given the experience we had with early post abyssea, but now in 2025? I mean they certainly haven't been "wary" of adding stuff like DT, WSD and PDL so I think it would make sense to change their approach when it comes to crit related stuff. As I said above, prove me wrong if you will but I think it wouldn't drastically change the current game meta, if anything it would just add a few more viable options and that sounds like a good thing to me, not a bad one. I'm fully expecting jobs like Mnk and Thf to get more multi-attack options for WS sets with the upgraded AF/Relic.
Mnk WSs in particular lag behind all other dds and Mnk lacks a front loaded WS that isn't the Prime WS. Pushing MA higher would close the gap, while still not doing enough to overtake Naegling. multi-hits need something that is certain, but again it mostly fixes itself if you take off the OH/ranged TP bonus aspect. At least for 1 handers, but 2 handers arent generally big on multi-hits to begin with.
Otherwise a minor ftp boost would be nice, multi hits rely too much on you landing all your hits and MA hits to match the simple consistency of a frontloaded WS stacked with WSD. Same goes for crit WS really, even with tauret boost evis is still relying on MAs to compete with just basic spam at 1k~1.5k rudras for example Be nice if "HP+%" returned on MNK pieces.
