Greetings old friends.

I have returned! It's been a while, I was last here in 2019 it seems. Yet, this has been on my mind, and when I saw the free Mog Kupon, I thought "WHY THE HELL NOT!" No idea what to use it on, so I will just sit on that for a while.

Anyway, lets face facts. I started playing this game at launch, so I am 23 years older. FT Job, Wife, Kids etc. Not much time to play, but I can sink an hour or two per day.

EU based. On Asura ... I'm not mercing anything. Never have, never will (already sick of the shouts) I don't want to multi-box.

I just want to solo, casually, for a while. I recall doing lots of Dynamis, and lots of Alexandrite farming. I have various REMA at different stages, but I logged in and saw Tizona 119 - so, I think I want to get that to 119(iii). I don't mind a slow, solo, casual grind.

Problem is... I can't remember a damned thing. I can figure out where to go for Dyna/Alex farming, but beyond that, i'm lost! I've already done quite a bit of reading in the forum, but scratch that, I want to start playing again.

So my asks:

1) Any super casual EU LS / Discords that don't mind an old guy dropping in/out every now and then, maybe even trying an event and killing us all as I have forgotten how to play?

2) Where / what can I spend my time doing. Primarily solo while I relearn, but so that I can slowly acquire:

a) 10,000 Beitetsu (or gil to buy it)
b) Job points to finish mastering BLU
c) Any other events I can solo / join large groups. (for example: I recall the Cait Sith place (can't even remember the name) but could just run in with Summoner and slam things, get drops, repeat.

Doesn't have to be on BLU. Have everything capped (except Job Points) on all other jobs, and enough gear to get me going in the right direction for soloing.

Fortunately, I saved all my old macros / gear sets. I just need to get back to grips with Windower and the other parts!

Thanks in advance.

The Caith Sith event you're talking about is probably Walk of Echoes.
There are still a few items which sell for decent gil but the drop rate is so absymal I'm not sure you should focus on farming that.

Where can good gil come from these days, eh...
First of all, every week fill your Accolades and your Sparks.
You can then convert 100k of each for items to NPC (sparks) or items to sell on AH (accolades), once per week.
It's not a huge source of gil, but it's a small steady income to rely on every week.

Then there's Omen. If you fix your sets and learn how to do it, you can do the Small Light path once a day (or multiple times a day a couple of times each week, since the KIs stack) for gil.
What for? Swart Astral Detritus.
On average you will get like, I dunno, 7-8 per run? They sell for like 100k each.
The first times you run this content it will probably take you 20+ mins per run, but once you optimize your gear and you know the content better, it's easy to go under 8mins per run, which in my opinion represents a good income for gil.

What else? Well, Ambuscade.
Join PUG parties or study strategies and create your own by directing it and giving each jobs instructions on what to do.
People love following instructions and hate leading groups.
Which means that once you know what you're looking for and how high or low you want to set your bar for inviting people, chances are you're gonna be able to create groups very fast.

Ambuscade give you Hallmarks and Gallantry which you can use to buy a plethora of items used mostly to upgrade RMEA.
You can either keep and store those items, or sell them on AH to make gil.
I think for someone who doesn't have mule and cannot merc stuff, Ambuscade is probably the biggest and most efficient source of gil for players, these days.

There's many other things you can solo and/or do without a Linkshell or a Group, but I'm not sure it's gonna be even remotely as efficient as the ones mentioned above, in terms of effort / time spent / gil result.

Oh! I forgot to mention, last but not least, do Segments Runs (Sheol C) every day. KI doesn't store, so you need to do runs daily.
If you get a decent group who can obtain at least 10k Segments at the end of the run, this means you will also get a wide amount of Capacity Points, Exemplar Points and a little bit under 2mils gil per run.
Plus you get Segments, which you will need aplenty once you start doing your Odyssey Endgame activities, if ever... but given the daily timegate and how much Segments you need, I suggest you start accruing Segments regardless, even if you still don't know if you will ever tackle Odyssey Content.
That's because by getting Segments, you also obtain several other things you need right now, so in my opinion it's worth doing it regardless for someone in your current position.

That's it! Enjoy your return!
