Which weapon should I get i'm too stupid to pick!
I ended up picking the Miracle Cheer and did a little bit of testing with Minuet to see what the difference is between that and G Horn. I'm using 5/5 Empyrean gear with Miracle Cheer to get the full set bonus instead of focusing on duration.
With Minuet 3, 4, and 5 plus Miracle Cheer on Bard with a standard Savage Blade setup, these were the numbers: 1821 Attack in my TP set 2172 Attack in my Weapon Skill set When I used Gjallarhorn (with a typical Minuet midcast set), I got: 1845 Attack in TP set 2196 Attack in WS set So yeah, it's a small difference, and you can make it up with different food choices but I think it has its uses. Seems like you forgot a Minuet or something went wrong with sets. It should be +33 ATK (13 from V, 11 from IV, 9 from III).
For me: 1958 ATK in TP set with MC songs 1991 ATK in TP set with Lough songs With Crooked 11 Chaos: 3502 ATK with MC songs 3562 ATK with Lough songs With Grape Daifuku+1 & Crooked 11 Chaos: 3563 ATK with MC songs 3622 ATK with Lough songs Keep in mind: ATK from food doesn't scale with Chaos Roll, Indi-Fury, Berserk, Last Resort, etc. ATK from songs does scale with all that stuff. My results above only show Chaos+Minuets, it would become more significant if you consider Indi-Fury, Marcato, or SV. Also consider that this loss of atk isn't just for you, but for every member of the party with those songs on, so the impact of using MC is 3-6x the differences marked out above, or worse with Fury/SV. So...you can't really replace 33 base ATK from songs with food. I mean, I guess you TECHNICALLY can, but it will take a disproportionate amount of +atk from food to gain the atk you're losing from the songs. TL;DR: In my opinion, if you have a Gjallarhorn or St5 Lough, you should only use MC if you have to (because of nitro problems) or to extend SV songs for another 3~4 minutes. Other uses are just lazy and more impactful than you might think by casually glancing at the Minuet page. i took the onion sword for my geo and the shield. Always wanted a sword option for my geo if it was needed. Geo for life!!!
I got a Pandit's staff for my lv1 alts, burned them to 99, got a few FC pieces, and now they're all perfectly viable WHMs for everything but Ody.
If you're still lost into this yap, to know what you should pick for your char (performance or fun or both), i'd say wait for Limbus update as it's around the corner.
When is neo-Rimbus coming out exactly.
Yo someone get the scythe and test the souleater thing for me no paper spreadsheet dps please

Could 2 BRD for Odyssey C be really good?? 15 min SV victory march, 3x minuet, other BRD do 1 minuet, 1 madrigal, 2 etude without SV, then after 15 minutes swap songs so you have SV songs for 100% of the run without fail and the two bards only have to sing once and can otherwise DD? Bahamut.Justthetip said: » Yo someone get the scythe and test the souleater thing for me no paper spreadsheet dps please I was also curious. What's the DPS like if geared to maximize Souleater duration? What instances (if any) would Final Syckle be preferable to Foenaria? I can’t see any scenario where the sickle comes anywhere even close to Foenaria.

So maybe 8000 damage per WS cycle. You will also add 3200 to Cross Reaper, but you will lose HP and will need to be healed after that. In comparison Redemption will add WAY more to white damage with AM1-3 and also more to Cross Reaper with 50STR and 50MND and is not restricted to Souleater and getting 9999HP. But I guess this logic doesn't count, because I haven't tested in game :roll eyes: Isn’t the mechanic with the bonanza scythe that you don’t lose hp from souleater?
The idea/utility I'm chasing is if I'm on WAR/DRG, would two SBs beat out a SB > FB2 with a light skillchain, whether I'm doing the SC myself or just closing somebody else's SB. In a full zerg with like 12 SBs going off at the same time, it's still probably gonna go to Naegling, but I'm thinking more along the lines of 6-man content or soloing.
I would be inclined to assume the target audience for a nonrema scythe are the people in the camp that will never get a rema scythe but want a scythe.

Quote: "Souleater": Negates HP consumption during a regular attack. Cerberus.Shadowmeld said: » Isn’t the mechanic with the bonanza scythe that you don’t lose hp from souleater? On regular hits, not on WS, which I meant with this sentence "You will also add 3200 to Cross Reaper, but you will lose HP and will need to be healed after that." I would like to know if anyone has gotten the great sword. I'm not looking to see if it's useful, I'm interested for lockstyle purposes. I think it might go well with my pld or war lockstyle.

We're on Kalunga v25, currently BRD using fast blade to break up ws wall for COR using savage blade and DRK using torcleaver. Could I, as the GEO, wield onion sword III and fast blade ii to break up the ws barrier and enable the BRD to start using savage blade? I'm pretty much idle for most of the fight. I don't have the weapon so it's hard for me to get an accuracy check with my gear.

But outside of that, I think your bubble is gonna get wasted pretty fast if you don't use Idris. But outside of that, I think your bubble is gonna get wasted pretty fast if you don't use Idris. It depends a whole lot on where you place the bubble. With widened compass (and possibly without), you can place it out of range of all of Kalunga's moves except Blistering Roar. I routinely kept a single blaze/ecliptic bubble up from 100% to 40% health without touching dematerialize. Frankly, even life cycle is probably not necessary for this. You may find it helpful to save Widen for the sub-40 phase, or you can use dematerialize, WC, dematerialize, RD, dematerialize. Or if you get Widen back from WC, that works too. That said, GEO has 0 sword skill so you'll be missing about 400 accuracy compared to most melee and GEO TP gear is god awful, so I don't think you'll be making a significant dent in the WS wall with your contribution. I wouldn't suggest it personally, I'd just have the BRD continue using FB. Carbuncle.Maletaru said: » It depends a whole lot on where you place the bubble. The widening idea is not bad. I'm unsure how that plays into those two adds spinning around like crazy. Like what I said. If you can keep the bubbles up somehow, then any WS to break wall would be a good idea. Which of the swords is best for a war mule that I am jyst using to clear Mission/Abyssea content and not intending to put in endgame?
Godfry said: » I'm unsure how that plays into those two adds spinning around like crazy. I did a Kalunga run where we stood specifically on one of it's legs and when adds popped, the person with hate on them (usually the WAR) would run far away then back to the other leg and force it to the opposite side of the party. In a situation like that, the GEO might be able to strategically place the bubble closer to the first leg but just outside of range of the Matamata's attacks, but still benefit both groups on either leg. like almost on the tail you'd put the bubble and the adds would be on it's side (but might not stay there due to knockback) |
